So I got a set of 5 steelies with the van to use for winter, any recommendations on what to do regarding refurbing them?? What sort of price would I expect for powder coating them black?? Or is just painting them an easier option? Thanks

Powder coating will cost about £40 to £50 per wheel, and will be better than just painting them.

All my banded steels are powder coated, and they are super robust through all seasons, until those modern moving kerbs jump in front of you.

Power coated all day long. Price above is what I pay.

I've had 3 sets, but currently just the set they will bury me with, for now.

Well just to throw a spanner in the works.
I had my wheels sprayed at a body shop.
As robust as paint on a car and also, you do not need to remove the tyres so you save on that cost and the cost of rebalancing. Also no risk of them getting damaged when the tyres are put back on.
£70 per wheel but I did have a lot of masking up as mine are 2 colours.
Expect around £50 all in and no additional costs for removal & fitting of tyres or balancing the wheels.

Still look great, clean up really easily.
