What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Waste water tank fitted (CAL-203), pretty awful fitting mounts but manage to make it work. May revisit at some point but it’s secure.

No issues with the waste in and managed to route pretty much along the same path I used for the fresh water, waste empty will need a revisit as with supplied hardware I had to side mount along drivers side, would much prefer to bring out to rear along with the fresh water filling point. The drain tap supplied will have to be replaced asap as it just awful and so far barely fit for purpose.

So thats now 68ltr fresh, 38ltr waste and 3ltr water heater all in and working.

You have both tanks underneath? This is the route I want to go down to save space inside... It easy enough to drain them if needed?

The 68ltr fresh water in spare wheel location has a large screw fit access port in bottom you can just reach under and totally open if needed, I tend to just pump it dry and then open access port if I want to drain. You could rig up something to the main outlet to allow a drain valve.

The waste tank should just drain as intended as the port is at a low point. It does have a tiny screw plug but would be a pain to access.

Took mine for an MOT today, which it flew through. I can’t believe I have had this a year, come the 28th. Enjoyed every penny and every minute spent with it.

EDIT: Which has also meant I just purchased 12 months road tax and also renewed my insurance.

This weekend I have been doing my floor, I have fitted the deep kombi step from THQ but it looks like my floor is a little higher than the step requires.
I'm not sure if I'm going modify it, the edge of the floor or just leave it and fill underneath.

Tomorrows job it to add filler to the grooves to get a nice plank look and sand/oil.

Ignore the rust on the last picture, I didnt cover that area when grinding the panels for the windows and I have only just noticed it on the picture :)

Did you resolve the side step gap, I think mine will have same issue.

I have not yet. I will leave it for a little while whilst I get more pressing jobs completed.

I will be adding ply underneath and using some spare door rubber to close up the 3mm gap between step and existing door seal.

At the moment I'm fit enough to step over the step and I'm the only person getting in it whilst I convert the van

Thanks, makes sense now i can see it
I was very keen on making a modular system that comes in & out with ease.

I know some people have removed the bolt for the OEM tie-down points and then bolted something down directly to the floor. Whilst undoubtedly a stronger fixing, it would have meant for me that I would either not be able to use the tie-downs or I would have to bolt them back in and that sounded like faff!

So new thermal poptop arrived so a quick test fit, seems I got most my measurements right. Not perfect but I suspect some tweaks will have it sitting better.

Little disappointed it was not the same thermal material as the external screen cover but also makes sense as it would add a fair bit of weight making even harder to fit. Was surprised I managed ok on my own in about 7 minutes and without needing additional steps etc to reach.
