What Have You Bought Today?

I have no knowledge of AI. Using US data for ratio is one thing but do remember that Pounds in the USA a not quite the same value as they are here it is the same with many US verses Imperial measurement units I suppose the most reliable measurement units are metric kg, km, Bar, little or no confusion likely. All vehicle manufacturers consult with the tyre industry but basically those tyre with the lowest volume of air tend towards higher pressures to support weight maintain temperatures within reasonable bounds for the weight that they experience. Larger volume tyres tend towards lower pressures for carrying the same weight and speed etc. Someone changing for instance from less voluminous tyre and changing to a larger volume would normally go down in pressure when setting tyres of course the construction of tyres differs.

Today I bought a Falcon WiFi unit which doesn’t need the roof drilling for an aerial, I set my fire stick up with my flip down monitor and now we have films and series in our van I also tried my laptop at the same time and it just worked fine.
I had previously tried to use my phone for a hot spot but it was very hit or miss with films freezing, buffering or not working at all.

How Has the Carpet pad in the drivers footwell faired over the years?
Four years later, and still going strong - that said it won't be as durable as the standard rubber foot pad longer term. If I was buying again, I'd probably just go with the standard rubber pad. Hope that helps.

Still trying to perfect WiFi when out and about.
Not yet found something that works well in rural North Devon when we are down there.
Are you using the sim from your phone or have you got a data only one?
Does it work well in places where the phone hotspot was patchy or no signal at all?

I used the sim out of my wife’s phone Smarty, only tried it out on my drive yesterday which was very patchy before off my phone with ID mobile sim. Can’t test it anywhere else for the foreseeable future as I have eye surgery tomorrow and told I can’t drive for 4 to 6 weeks.

I read this on another forum yesterday and I’ve bought one to try out at our static caravan.

But if you on a budget get a £30 cat12 device on ebay (yes thats all they cost, ZTE286)) as it'll beat many £300 costing devices with lower band categorys.

I don't want to sound a broken record and know it's not to everyone's taste or budget.

But having access and tried

Phone 5g
Kuma puck antenna mounted to the poptop
Starlink

Starlink is the only one that has connected first time perfect, everytime, with amazing speeds at all times no matter where I am.

Everyone has their needs but if reliability and speed are the main ones it's worth the money.

Thank you.
I hope that the surgery and recovery go well.
I look forward to an update when you are fully recovered and can test it all out.

bought a 3 vin vcds and after trial but mostly error got it to change IDE00845 wheel circum to 2355mm for speedo accuracy on my new Cooper 345/65R1s. In the process i discovered the circum was never changed to accommodate the 245/40R20s that i swapped out

the speed camera gods have been kind to me over the last 2 years i have had the Van

A BioLite camp stove. A tiny firepit that can be used for cooking. Burns biomass, twigs, pellets etc. It has a Peltier element that generates power and recharges an integral battery and can charge USB devices. This also powers a four speed fan which creates a vortex of air and makes it burn very cleanly and keeps the cold side of the Peltier cool. Boils a litre of water in about 4 mins in the BioLite kettle!

Some lovely pressed metal plates - dreading trying to get the current ones off though. Gave them a quick tug and they're pretty well stuck - probably going to follow the good old dental floss approach.

Also finally got round to fitting the wind deflectors i got from VeeDubs

finally got round to buying and fitting my new steering wheel, supplied by SS customs, Steve was brilliant to deal with. its been a "pimp my van month" with leather seats, finally doing the rear wheel arches with 4mm thick sound proofing, rest of van was done a few years ago. painted my brake callipers gold, and changed the rusty black side bars for stainless ones.

I haven’t done my arches yet either, as need to remove the Ovano to do it. How much difference has it made for you? In what way?
