What Have You Bought Today?

its a lot better than the ss imo
I haven’t tried the s+s so I can’t comment but the debus is without a doubt the best camping accessory we have bought for the van. I love it and we have genuinely worn it out with use so more than happy to buy a new canvas. It is get to be a bit like triggers broom though as I’ve bought new poles already (more because I wanted funky grey ones than because I needed them though)

Went to the camping mega show in Brisbane Australia yesterday, just for a look as we don’t need a thing. But found a whistling collapsible kettle (that was on special for £26) that upgrades our non whistling one. Why do we end up with two of everything? View attachment 290937
Before we bought our van we rented one. In it was a whistling kettle. Wifey loved that kettle, eventually we managed to find it, it doesn't collapse, but it boils water and whistles when it's done, and takes up a right chunk of space under the sink. Secondary use as a heavyweight weapon to maim intruders...

A very good find. I Like stainless steel less likely to end up within the body we tend to stay away from aluminium for that matter. Your kettle is also suitable for most heat sources tick for that too. Looks good tastes goof by golly it is good! :)

Aluminium cooking utensils have been linked to dementia. They became popular during and after the war when steel was hard to come by which in turn led to a big blip in dementia type ailments in the 70s and 80s. I'm not sure how strong the link was ever proven to be but the correlation is certainly there.

Not proven. Used to be a Scottish alternative to guilty/not guilty , it was not very satisfactory and I think aluminium’s roll in dementia needs to be looked at in detail.

Correlation, but Alzheimer’s Research UK sees it as likely that damaged cells are less able to get rid of Al rather than the cause. Air pollution is moving up the long list of possible factors now.

My mum used to use Al pans. If they got stuff burnt on, she would cook rhubarb in them which got them very clean. Aluminium Oxalate and custard, yummy.
