Webasto Diesel Heater Installation

Just finished installing my electrics (I got the VW T6 package from Travel Volts which I can highly recommend). Starting with zero electrical knowledge I just about managed to figure it out using a combination of the Travel Volts guide and lots of Youtube videos. I now have a fully working leisure battery, dc-dc charger, 240v hook up, Victron smart charger, lights and USB socks. I've attached a few photos of the conversion so far for anyone interested.

Anyway, my Webasto Airtop 2000 has arrived this morning and I hope to install it myself with my new found conversion confidence.

The installation seems fairly straightforward, the only thing I'm unsure about is lifting the van high enough to drop the tank. I've got a set of axle stands, but I can't find any definitive information on where to place them, so I don't fancy going under the van using them.

Does anyone know how high the van needs to be lifted to allow the tank to be dropped? I'm considering getting some maintenance ramps, but the few I've seen vary massively in height (and price). I've seen some fairly robust looking plastic ramps (link below), but they only lift the van 170mm. Would this be enough? Alternatively I've seen a ramp/bottle jack combination (link also below) which will lift up to 375mm.

Also any tips or guides on installing the heater would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

I used homemade ramps to raise mine....layers of bricks as the front spoiler made the van too low to use standard ramps.. Within reason, higher is better.
i just read up on the variety of threads on here to ensure I knew what to expect and how to approach it. E.G. Fitting Eberspacher D2 - My Experience
Lowering the tank is the only pain as the filler neck is a tight fit... No need to force it but ensure the tank is level as it‘s lowered.

The ramps with the hydraulic bottle jack lift as well are what I bought - the only problem that I found with them is that there isn't a positive stop for the tyre, I am going to have to weld a stop on the lifting platform so that you can feel when the wheel reaches it. It is it is very easy to run over as it is, especially if you have dsg and it lurches forward as you try to go another inch. They gave me plenty of room underneath when fitting my heater but I had my converter do the fuel tank take off on a 4 post lift to save me the job.

I rauised mine on plastic levelling ramps and it was high enough to drop the tank, I guess it depends if you have lowered your suspension. Check out this video and start at 4 mins, this is great for removing the tank. here
