The Express - when will caravan sites re-open ?

We’d better stop ...and have a wee break....just remember Dock leaves are a great substitute For loo roll( eco friendly and green) :inlove:

The trouble is what we did , that was acceptable in times gone by ..now is seen as not PC correct ...the environmentalist will tell you that to s**t in the woods will unset the Eco System and wet wipes don‘t break down that well

well trying telling the wife after the dog has rolled in fox poo and you’ve got to clean the van out...and the rest of nature can s**t where it likes and get away with it......at least I’d bury mine ;)

Well, if the sites open, me being me, we only use sights with facilitys like toilets and showers. I wouldn't be happy using a toilet or shower that others are also using at this moment in time. I also want to go down the local pub for a pint and a meal, thats all part of our break. So if the pubs arn't open, I'm staying home and local walks with the flea bag.

I’d happily break our caravans rule of no poop if sites reopened without facilities.

I’m desperate to get away and tinker with our caravan that’s been sat in storage since November.

When the pubs are open the beer garden will be very popular....but on a positive note ..won’t have to keep waving ur hand in the air to get served....cause you’ll have to queue

While we're still talking dirty, in a past life, I've had to do lot of No. 2s in bin bags and then carry them around with me for a while - trust me anything's a step up after that but I still can't persuade the Mrs of the fact!
Were you only allowed 1 piece of toilet paper as well?

Joke:-
How do you tell the difference between the back.....and the front....of a tree.

You'll only find a shit at the back of a tree.

When you say you had to...

That's got me thinking. Bike rack could do with earning its keep a bit more. Potentially put an end to Mrs Donkey reminding me how 'Our caravan had a toilet'.

The ultimate social distancing lavvy.

Filing for a patent now. You saw it here first.

The National Caravan Council (NCC), the industry body that represents the leisure vehicle industry in the UK is lobbying the government to reopen UK caravan parks as soon as it is safe to do so (private owners and then holidaymakers but without any access to facilities until is it safe) in line with proposals in England no later than 4 July.

The leisure industry contributes 10% of GDP across Europe. The UK caravan industry comprises of 3,877 caravan parks and employs in excess of 171,000 people. There are over 250,000 privately owned holiday caravans on parks. These parks welcome over 520,000 touring caravan and 228,000 motorhome owners.

The NCC enjoyed lobbying success earlier this year by getting the government to reverse the new motorhome Vehicle Excise Duty (VED).

By opening up UK leisure vehicle parks, not only will it provide a much needed economic boost to the UK economy, but will it provide a much needed opportunity for leisure vehicle owners to escape to a safe open space, where they can continue to socially distance themselves and get back to enjoying the great outdoors.

Seems like they carefully avoided the mentioning of whether toilet blocks would be open. There is no mention of them being closed in the list of actions but also they are missing from the communal areas examples. Interesting and a bit worrying!

i have just filled in a survey that the camping and caravan club emailed to me, I know everyone has different opinions but I commented that for campervan owners it is essential for the toilets/shower facilities to be open on sites. We are more than happy to use them if extra cleaning is done and some extra safety measures are put in place. Without these being open we are stuck to be honest as the wife wont do more than 1 night without a shower !
