Im going to the Ombudsman no matter what...Your original insurer is on the hook for all your additional costs arising from their incorrect assertion that you misrepresented your van. So, if you can afford the short term pain of increased insurance costs, there shouldn't be a problem long term - it will just take time for it all to be worked out.
If your original insurer remains intransigent, I would deffo go to the Ombudsman.
