T6.1 Heated Steering-Wheel retrofit?

Afternoon everyone so picked up a golf R wheel yesterday and a 5Q0953569B slip ring for the heating element connections
I know it’s a bit of a job to tackle so will give it a try when I’ve more time
After a bit of research I believe the slip ring will be ok for the heater part but I will need to add in a canbus pair for comms to code it and add a power supply
Also I think a small modification to the slip ring to allow the T6.1 stalks to fit thanks to the details provided by @Pauly
@Pauly

Mk8 R steering wheel Update!

I’ve installed my Golf 8R heated wheel in my T6.1 along with a 5Q0 slip ring
My van is a 2021 5speed manual gearbox

With wiring pin out list for the T14 and T16 plugs posted by @Pauly and @Rems all worked perfectly Cruise, horn menus everything except for the heater button

I have power to the heater terminals on the slip ring and I have installed canbus high and low but I would like to confirm it’s on the correct pins T14 pin 5&6?

Also I have tapped into can high and low behind the radio in the loom for the main radio ISO plug can high and low grey connector
orange/ brown can low
and Purple can high

Could you confirm this is correct or should I be joining the canbus in another location?

I have the three stage heating control I can select in the radio screen after turning it on in HVAC in VCDS and the icon on the bottom of the consumers screen but the heating will not activate

The button on the steering wheel does nothing either

Just trying to rule out a wiring problem before I go further with more coding

Any advice would be much appreciated thank you

My heated MFSW story got a happy ending after all. I asked around on facebook groups and one day I found a company that operates in UK, but the owner happens to live in my country. So we got in touch and he fitted my wheel and swapped modules that needed swapping, and did the coding. Everything works now perfectly. Really recommend Home - Professional Retrofits Limited
The car is 2024 T6.1 California Beach

We can do it. There's more to it than just swapping the wheel and slipping out and took me a while to figure but we've done several now

Can someone help me?
I see module 16 — the heating doesn’t start either from the steering wheel button or from the media system. It lights up yellow briefly and then turns off. Which setting did you choose in 08?
CanL - Pin 7, Gateway CanH - Pin 17.On PIN 5–15 it doesn’t see module 16 at all.
The horn also doesn’t work — did you move PIN 8 like Pauly did, or did you leave it there?

After getting the bits and wanting to make the steering wheel heater to work without doing any(major) modifications to the van. I mange to get this to work but in a complete deferent way to most of the members I have seen done here. But a great deal of information was available thanks to them. I thought of sharing this if anyone like me wanting to do this, with limited/no knowledge of LIN/CAN BUS communication.
  • Bought a ID3 heated steering wheel (wanted to keep the original Airbag).
  • Bought a Golf Mk8 steering switch set matching the same (identical to what I had in the van) + steering heater button.
  • Bough a clock spring (Golf Mk8, I think) 5Q1.953.549.F which has the two wires for the heater and more than enough pins for the rest.
  • Connector and the harness for the clock spring and other bits and bobs
Then add I a small micro controller( Arduino Nano) to detect the switch press, that will activate a MOSFET to drive the heater whilst monitoring the temperature sensor (NTC) built in to the steering wheel, to a pre set level within a given time (10min) then switch off. Since I didn't want to add any extra indicators or switches, I fit a small speaker (from an old Nokia) inside the steering to hear a beep when the heating is activated, and when it stops. Hope this will be any help to some one in the future.
