I hear you, but you cant tar them all with the same brush. The same German engineers that designed the Adblue system, or who came up with the BiTurdo motor munching EGRs? Yeah, they know their stuff.
I was watching a youtube vid last night entitled something like definitive proof that stop/start seriously damages your engine.
I don’t I have VCDS and could do it with that. The thing I like about the module device is it remembers the last setting, so can leave it on if ever it goes into VW.Dont forget if youve got OBDeleven there is an app for disabling start stop
Not an option in the MMI menu, as it is probably an emissions requirement. But there is the button on the dash, which can be pressed to turn it off. however it defaults to on again next time ignition is cycled. Hence the little dohicky in line with the switch that people add. 5 minute job.You mean it’s not just a setting in the menu?
Must admit it very rarely kicks in in my T6.1 so not something that’s really bothered me but I just assumed there’d be a button like on most cars?
Does that have any other negative effects? Like keeping the battery to 80% or affecting voltages so dc-dc chargers not functioning properly? There’s a super easy and free trick to disable stop start, you just unbolt the little black box from the neg terminal from the starter battery, the ecu cant see the state of charge and it no longer works

Do you know how it disables it? Or can it be done with VCDS. In the last van I disables it by changing the temperature below which it doesn't come on to 28C.Dont forget if youve got OBDeleven there is an app for disabling start stop
If what im hearing is correct (one of my new neighbours has my old job on the autocrime team) the thieves aren't even doing that much. Someone's either cracked it, or installers are lazy/been instructed to wire it exactly the same way each time. Either way, vehicles with itmfitted are still going walkies nationally.A bit ironic that Ghost owners are pushing multiple buttons to start the engine
