For Sale Standalone ESP32 BLE Battery Display for Victron Systems

Cheers, out of interest did you reverse engineer the BLE or did you find Victron docs?

Whats the range on the BLE in the metal confines of the van? This would be great somewhere by the door or even on the vehicle dash. I've got a newish Van conversion business and I'm looking to put some flourish into the builds. Was going down the more 'smart' route but I'm not convinced there's a market for it.
There are loads of posts across the Internet that document them, including Victron Bluetooth BLE Protocol announcement - VictronEnergy Victron Bluetooth BLE Protocol announcement - VictronEnergy

The range is generally a bit meh. The shunt is worse than the mppt in my experience, tends to be about 8 to 10 metres. I guess it probably depends on how well insulated the van is too.

So all installed and working now. Once I figured out my phone reception wasn't working once I'd connected to the monitor wifi, so I needed to go for a little drive to get better reception.
input the 2 key numbers saved and all sorted. Very easy once I worked out what was going wrong. Its working really well now

I dragged out my version I was working on something similar last year. Didn't get as far linking in electrical systems because as per usual something more pressing got in the way. I think your project has got potential because the commercial control screens are frankly massively over priced. One major brand is just a screen with a HDMI cable and USB.

Wondering if we can get the water levels off the Cerbo GX module over BLE as well. Anyway thought I'd share what I created. Great minds and all that.

Anyway here's my UI if it gives any inspiration. My plan was do this as part of a larger system, didn't think of the BLE route direct.

Hi I’m also interested in this, would it be possible to add a screen so I could see my Victron smart battery protects (iv got 3) status?
also when the screen is connected can you still use a phone to connect to the Victron device? Or does the screen need to be disconnected.

Victron shunt
Victron mppt 100/20 (x2 120w panels)
Victron mains charger
X3 Victron battery protect
Fogstar 280ah LiFePo4

Cheers

Thanks,

I've responded by DM.

I think im caught up with sending DM's to those who want devices, if I've missed someone, please ping me a message :-)

I have 11 ready to go today, 17/06/2026.

Current plans for updates:
1 - I want to switch on / off screens from settings screen.

2 - The 'battery page' is actually the victron shunt. - this needs to be changed / clarified. - We had a user who has a victron shunt, and eco worthy battery - looks like it will currently on do one or the other.

On topic of eco worthy, - apparently when this device uses the ecoworthy bluetooth, it blocks out the phone access.

Victron doesnt do this, victron allows both phone access, and the panel.

3 - Orion DC to DC chargers is supported as of beta 6. I need to do a bit of testing, I know I sent this to some of you, please feed back any issues.

4 - I plan to look at: Victron Mains Charger, Battery Protect, other battery types that have a bluetooth bms -

5. - I need to make proper instructions, I appreciate not everyone can pick it up and instantly work out what to do.

send in your BLE captuture's to [email protected] - help support the project!

Fimrware can be updated via the web interface, the latest firmware can be found on www.chargescreen.co.uk

To find out what firmware you are on, hold the 'demo' button for 3 seconds, you should see a hidden menu pop up.

anyone else got any burning desire for features?

I’ve built a standalone ESP32-C3 BLE telemetry display for campervan/off-grid battery systems. It uses a circular touchscreen display and reads data directly over Bluetooth LE, so there’s no requirement for Home Assistant, internet access, or external gateways.

At present, support is mainly aimed at Victron equipment, as that’s what I’ve tested extensively. If there’s another BLE battery or device people want support added for, let me know and I’ll see what can be done.

I’m happy to share the firmware/source code if people want to build their own device, but I won’t be providing step-by-step setup support. If you’re reasonably comfortable with Google, PlatformIO/Arduino, and modern AI tools, it should be straightforward enough to get running.

Alternatively, I can supply a fully programmed unit ready to go for £35 posted within the UK. That leaves me roughly £15 profit after hardware, programming time, and postage, which makes it worthwhile my end.

The AI thing told me to add this:
  • hobbyist-built,
  • small-run,
  • and supplied as-is without formal warranty.
I will do my best to help out, but this isnt a business or anything. Just a tinkerer that put a useful thing together.

Current Stock as of 17/05/2026
11 Screens
Lots of cables

Hi Eddie,

At present, the device reads and shows data from victron shunt, victron mppt, victron dc to dc, and eco worthy batteries.

All the data shown on the app is shown on the display.

The display is designed to be installed, and can switch the screen off or left on. There are dimming settings.

I will pm for dets.

At the moment, only the victron shunt data would be displayed.

This would still be super useful, and will show data like this.

As for the ctek devices, I may be able to add support for these.

There is a setting on the device you can enable to have it listen for other devices. It makes a file that you can send to me and I can work on getting other devices supported.

Hello, I'm interested in one unit please.

I have a SmartShunt 500A, a SmartSolar 75/15 but will upgrade to a bigger one, and a Orion XS 12/50.

Little question, how much would it cost total to ship to either Belgium or Spain please ?
In terms of power supply, could it come with the special plug on the back with wires to directly mount it on the wall with 12V somehow or does it have to be through usb-c ?

Many thanks !

Afternoon All,

so I have updated the firmware. Version 6.11 is now the latest.

I have implemented support for mains chargers, albeit I don’t have one to test, just used values found on the net.

Please can someone test it, and let me know if its working?

oh, I also figured that it was getting messy having lots of screens shown, so you can now disable / enable screens from wifi menu.

Eco worthy is now treated separately from the victron shunt page, so if you have both you can show both.

The firmware can be found at chargescreen.co.uk

Cheers!

Im also very intrested , running Victron Solar controller and victron dc to dc , I plan to add a victron shunt also , running roamer lithium battery .... intrested in device and cable if possible

Just a little update to confirm that the victron smart charger is detected correctly and is working.

So confirmed working list is currently:

Victron Smart Shunt
Victron Onion series dc to dc
Victron MPPT solar controller
Victron smart charger

Eco-worthy bms batteries

The screen can be powered from usb c, or powered by a rear entry cable that I make.
Note that a button on side needs to be pressed to boot from rear power cable.

I have plenty in stock ready to ship.

What's next to be added to support list?
Maybe roamer batteries, few of you have them. I could do with a ble capture of roamer batteries if possible.
