Ok, so the time has come to put my beloved Caravelle, aka the "MTB'Velle", up for sale...

I have a full build thread here - The MTB'Velle - where every single thing I've done to the van, places I've been in it, ideas I had etc have been recorded. If you're interested in the van, make a cuppa and have a read through. I'm fairly confident my Caravelle is a very unique van in it's interior set up, and if you're looking for the same things I was in a van then the set up in this will suit you perfectly. For a single traveler, who wants the use the van day to day but also be able to sleep and travel in the van alongside a couple of bikes or other adventure equipment, whilst also having a full kitchen with sink/ fresh water and fridge.
Asking price is £39,000 - reasonable offers accepted, but I'm in no rush to sell.
Van is in Maidstone, Kent - viewings are welcome any time as I work from home.
I'm selling as when I bought and built the van I was single and my main priorities were travelling for mountain biking and going on away on trips. I spent 3 weeks living in the van a couple years ago and have been to various places in the UK and Europe. Things have now changed though, a year ago I met a lady with an 11 year old daughter, since then we've bought a bungalow together and my priorities now are the bungalow renovation and extension - and being 3 of us, the van only manages to cope with us and all our stuff with a big awning or tent. A replacement workhorse Volvo V70 T5 estate has been found and is already being put to use!
The van has been used to move homes twice, has been used to put up various materials including wood and sand and cement bags and just isn't being used as it should! And the proceeds will be going towards the house renovation fund!
Here's a link with all pictures of the van in a Google album - Caravelle Pictures
Here's the basic details:
2018 VW Caravelle Executive SWB 150 TDI DSG in Deep Pearl Black
Current mileage is 55928 miles
12 months MOT with zero advisories, expires 17th April 2027
Full VW Service history, last serviced at my local main dealer in December 2025 at around 54k miles (can't find my latest VW SH print out but the mileage is accurate)
DSG service was done at just over 43,700 miles in September 2023.
Cambelt & water pump was changed when I bought the van in June 2023 at 43,000 miles.
Couple of very minor bad points, there's a couple of very slight dents in the tailgate, not paint damage though. And there's a scuff on the rear bumper from a runaway wheelie bit. There's also a slight scuff on the rear passenger side arch where the sliding door roller has dropped. The roller does need to be replaced, I have one on order and this will be done in the next few days.
The touchscreen is also getting a little finicky sometimes, I just use the knob to select the option I want. This can be fixed with a new digitiser I believe.

Being a Caravelle, you get various extras over the standard vans, including:
Tri-zone climate control - set the temperature to 21 degrees and let it do it's job! Or if you're a little chilly, notch it up to 21.5 or even 22!
Half leather, half alcantara seats, front and rear - more on the seat layout later...
Extra insulation/sound deadening
Frameless interior mirror (auto dipping)
Heated seats
Full colour MFD
Full electric sliding doors
Soft close tailgate
Optional extras from factory:
Full LED headlights
Swiveling passenger seat
Eberspacher Deisel heater with remote control fob (works up to 1km range)
2nd batteryunder the passenger seat - more on this later, too...
Laminated windscreen and front door windows, basically a lightweight double glazing
Factory sliding windows - these do not leak!!! I've gone out of my way to fix any leaks and since doing so have had zero issues with leaks.

In the time I've owned the van, I added/upgraded the following:
Exterior:
OZ Rally Raid Bronze 17" wheels, ceramic coated, fitted with 245/65 R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W tyres. These were fitted in Aug 2024 at around 46k miles so have 10k on them and there's barely any wear. I've done mostly big european trips in this time (3x down to spain) so motorway miles mostly.
At the same time as the wheels were fitted I also had a fill Koni suspension refresh done at CRS:
Koni Special dampers
std height springs
25mm lift spacers
H&R anti roll bars
Lower arm bushes
Drop links
Plus a few extra bushes, top mounts etc
New rear discs and pads at the same time
New front discs were fitted not long before I bought the van
Flatdog full size roof rack
Fiamma F40 Van awning (came with the van when I bought it)
There's a FitcamX dash camera in the rear view mirror housing
Adaptive cruse control has been coded in and works brilliantly, along with other things like the needle sweep, teardrop wiper extra wipe etc.
Electrical:
Full (and I mean FULL) Victron and Fogstar Drift set up, composing of the following:
230Ah Fogstar Drift Seatbase Battery
Victron Orion XS 12-12-50a DC-DC charger
Victron MPPT 100/20 Solar charger
Victron 500a Smart Shunt
Victron Cerbo GX with Touch 50 display, and GPS antenna
Ablemail AMT12-2 Battery trickle charger
All the above, long with the required cut off switches (main and solar), busbars etc, and relocation of the factory fuses), etc etc are mounted under the passenger seat.
Hookup cable under the bonnet with a Victron 15a charger under the drivers seat.
Victron 305w rigid solar panel mounted on the roof rack using angle aluminium and many locking stainless bolts and nuts
Renogy 2000w Inverter mounted to the rear of the passenger seat base
Tenda 4G wifi router, ethernet cable to the Cerbo GX which gives full 24/7 Victron VRM monitoring from anywhere in the world, as well as wifi for laptops etc
Various lighting, including LED strips above the side doors, under the kitchen pod, a flexible light on the kitchen top, and a strong LED at the rear for nighttime loading!
Ruvvi tag temperature sensors - 1x in the frige, 1x in the van interior and 1x in the fuel filler cap for outside temperature.

Interior - camping set up:
I designed and built, from scratch, my own kitchen pod with a solid walnut worktop and pull out drawer, Aplcool 50l fridge, fresh and grey water storage containers, sink, electric tap, storage for a gas canniser and room for a portable dual hob gas burner. Plus extra storage for cans and other bits. The electics for this are all standalone and connected via an anderson connector in the drivers seat base board. The kitchen is fixed into the van via only the caravelle seat rails and so can be removed in an hour or so. The factory diesel heater outlet is rerouted through the kitchen pod to 2 outlets in the front. One is in the perfect spot for warming your feet!
At the reat of the van, the slide out tray, and bed are on another separate section and can also be removed just by undoing the securing fasteners in the seat rails. Attached to the side of this is extra storage with several boxes for kitchen supplies etc. The bed folds out over the 2 single rear seats when they're folded down (so it's a four seater, 2 up front and 2 in the back, one behind each other). With this set up, I can not only carry 4x 6ft tall adults one day, but sleep in the van alongside 2x bikes the next. There's also high level storage above the kitchen which houses the Victron touch 50 and USB ports for the display and 4g router.
A set of 50 degree NORD window bags are in the rear, and the van has a full set, including the cab divider, of Van X blackout curtains.

I have a set of locking MTB fork mounts for the rear tray which are set to allow you to move the position of the bikes front and back, left and right to fit 2 bikes in.
I think that's about everything on the the van... There's bound to be something I've forgotten so any questions at all, please let me know!!
I'll include my rainbow screens camo windscreen cover, a set of levelling blocks, and if the price is good and you want it, a huge Olpro cocoon breeze inflatable air awning, it's got 2 bedrooms and a lunge area.
It's filthy at the moment but I'll give it a wash for any potential viewings, and it'll get a full professional detail and valet before going off to the new owner!!
Price is reasonable I think considering the many (many!) thousands of pounds of extra equipment I've added, and the overall condition of the van - it needs for absolutely nothing, apart from maybe a 2 stage machine polish and ceramic coat - this was on my list of things to do but I never got around to it.
