Retrofit front PDC

OK Guys,
I've just received the kits to do the OEM retrofit of front parking sensors and reversing camera. There's no instructions with them
Now I'm pretty sure I could work it out but inevitably that will mean it takes longer, is there a set of instructions available that anyone has and doesn't mind sharing please? I'm sure VW must issue them to their techs if they are doing this work.

If there are no instructions available, any of you guys who have done this, can you give me any top tips please?

The camera looks pretty simple. I'm assuming the main cable runs alongside the other cables on the passenger side of the roof and through the tailgate in the same was as wiper cabling. Does it get to the dash and head unit via the A pillar or down the B pillar and through the floor?

Front sensors. Assume these run across inside of bumper from passenger side to driver side, then through bulkhead close to the BCU? Also assume I replace the existing PDU for the rears with the supplied PDU? where does the buzzer go and is there a good/bad way to get the cables through the dash to the new switch etc?

Hi All

I've brought front bumper loom and PDC sensors to retro fit front park assist onto my van. I have a tool to cut/punch holes into my existing bumper but I need the glue on bumper brackets. Does anyone know the part number for them?

Whist at it, does anyone know the part number for the switch and connector?

Can you post a few links to what you bought as i am just about to do same thing
i guess you got the 8 channel thinggy as well?

Sorry, I can’t help with instructions but there are a few threads on the installation if you search for front sensors/ PDC / parking etc. I have seen a few with good photos on fitting the sensors and routing the wiring through the bulkhead.

I want to install the front sensors too while I have the bumper off to do some mods to the grills. But to reduce cost I only really want to buy what’s needed in the bumper for now. Would you be able to list the part numbers of the sensors, holders and looms needed from your kit?

I was sure the part numbers would be on here somewhere but I haven’t been able to find anything but the control module number.

where did you get the kit from?

It is two separate kits. There’s a couple of places I found with reasonable pricing. One was Home page | VAG-TEC E-shop but these guys seem to get poor reviews on here so i didn’t buy from there. I ended up buying from carsystems.eu - Retrofits Specialists - Car OEM Parts. They’re in Poland but i have to say the service was very good, the stuff arrived promptly and was well packaged. I paid with my credit card just in case...

Sorry, I can’t help with instructions but there are a few threads on the installation if you search for front sensors/ PDC / parking etc. I have seen a few with good photos on fitting the sensors and routing the wiring through the bulkhead.

I’ve just replied to another post with links to where I bought the stuff from. You can buy pretty much all the components separately except the plastic bumper inserts. I’ll try and take some pictures later today of the bits I have. If you’re any good with a Dremel and have the confidence to do it, probably worth cutting the holes for the sensors in your existing panels and just buying the loom, sensors and sensor holders (which look to attach using sticky tape).

Attached are some photos of the kit I have showing part numbers where possible. I’m not sure this will help as the kit comes with the sensors pre-installed in the bumper inserts, my earlier post may be of more use as it includes a link to where you can buy all the bits individually (except the bumper inserts).

That’s great, thanks for the photos! I didn’t realise the sensors came installed with the grill pieces, on the website it looks like they are all separate.

It does look like a very good kit though.

I am just trying to figure this piece out. i thought the sensors mounted in the piece that has the fog lights in? the grill like this grill on my van is one piece.

I think if you have a start line or trend line it may all be one piece. If not then the lower grill is three pieces with a sensor at either edge, there is a further 2 sensors in the fog light trim

Well... my van came from Oz (i am in NZ) so not sure if start or trend line! but the grill is one piece and the fog light piece will pop out.
I was under the impression the parking sensors were in the foglight pop out section. (without going and finding a van to look at)

Nope not yet. I can probably work it out but any hints and tips on what to do and what not to do will be helpful.

Just be aware that upper grille, the holes are not round, they are on the lower grille. If you look at the pictures you should be able to see this.

We routed the camera wiring by the A- pillar then fished it through behind the glovebox. Hardest bit was cutting the hole in the tailgate for the camera,bit fiddly,hope this helps you @Big.mac and good luck

We time stuck at home, I've taken the opportunity to retro fit front PCD sensors to my van.
I've used a loom from Kufatec and an OEM bumper loom and sensors. I haven't fitted the P switch yet but the system isn't working. Even my rear sensors and the OPS display is no longer working. I'm not getting any errors in VCDS.
This is the ECU I'm using.

Does it need to be coded if I've just added the front sensors?
