Just looking at chargers and wondered if getting a REDARC BCDC1240D - 40A DC-DC Charger & MPPT Solar Controller would future proof my van for a while allowing me to add as I go, any suggestions, either this unit or another more suitable?

i was certainly very happy with the one i fitted in my t5.1, very nicely built and seemed excellent quality. had no complaints over it charging.

the Readarcs are great . . . .

more info . . .

.

It depends how quickly you want to charge the battery back up..

Lithium will suck up 50A+ easy...

So 40/50A will charge up twice as quick as 25A . . . . Or half the miles driven...

Or time engine running.

The other thing is 40A needs beefer cable and fuses etc to install..

I've got 25/30/40/50A . . . They all work similar....

The renogy and redarc both have mppt solar built in. As does the ctek.

Looks like Renogy is the choice after reading dellmassives thread and searching currents thinking. Renogy battery also when back in stock, price now 799!
