Price of diesel in your area?

and this weeks update:

Oldham Costco - 181.9p (147.9 unleaded)
Droylsden BP - didn't go past it...
Openshaw Morrisons 187.9 (153.9)

things are settling down a tad perhaps...

it's been a while.
the current East Manchester prices are:

Oldham Costco - 168.9p (146.9 unleaded)
Droylsden BP - 179.9p (159.9 unleaded)
Openshaw Morrisons 171.9 (149.9)

conclusion: BP are still robbing b'stards!!

They all are when you look at their profits.

Around £2bn profit (not turnover) per day as an industry globally. That’s after you deduct all the wages of the lobbiests and the price of all the gifts to politicians globally.

Try living without it though.

Without the global petrochemical industry, millions, maybe billions, would starve to death.
with the petrochemical industry millions of people starve to death (floods and drought are beginning to happen more often and they knew this would happen a long time ago - see Here) plus many thousands of people die early every year due to all the harms air pollution causes. Generally long, drawn out -and therefore expensive, deaths.

Double edged sword.

We’d be better off health wise, food wise and money wise if we used less of it and used sustainable fuels and materials where we could - but all that lobbying makes that harder and more expensive to do at the minute.

Locally the diesel prices are coming down and ranging from 169.9 at Sainsbury's in Wellingborough to 184.9 at Waitrose Shell in Rushden, but most are around 175-176.9
Petrol prices don't seem to be dropping though.
I use an Esso fuel card that I got through the Blue Light Card scheme that gets a 4p discount per litre on normal diesel and 6p on super diesel (3/5p on normal and super petrol respectively), so I can pay around 171.9 at the moment.

I also get a copy of every receipt since using the card and that shows me that I've gone from paying about £100 for a tank to the last five tanks costing £105, £121, £155 (!), £142 and £132 although I am only using a tank per month now.
