At least the roads should be quieter...Heading off Monday for a 3 week trip around Scotland- great timing![]()
That's a great mix of rambling and ballox!Im personally getting to think this is all a conspiracy. Government now don’t like anything Diesel. Same as most of Europe. Busy city’s poisoning everyone blah blah.
USA have no shortages and prices haven’t gone up as much as ours. (Wife’s boss lives in Miami).
So how much oil actually comes through the Straight on Hormuz to the UK? 80% of it goes to Asia. I can understand the price increase over here as it’s valued on the price per barrel but why are we now facing a shortage??
Our main importers are Norway and USA.
Think they are trying to steer us towards Electric vehicles.
Anyway. Got to go as need to pop to my local Shell garage to top up my tank with £2:19 per litre![]()
What's the source for that?Apparently......UK is 2-3 weeks away from Govt rationing of diesel.
£1.86 on the a43 between northampton and kettering for diesel....that was on monday...
By and large the US supply their own oil needs so theyre pretty much unaffected.
That's a great mix of rambling and ballox!
What's the source for that?
That's OK, we will have been and come back from Mallorca by then. If there isn't enough fuel to bring us back, I'll have my bike, lovely mountain roads and hopefully decent sunshine.Been on the news along with Aviation fuel shortage. They have enough until 2nd week of May.
Great. I’m off to Malta on the 17th!
Was on the news along couple of nights ago. Preston was the source.
Oh aye, they trade on the world market like everyone else so their price is also affected, but their physical supply is in little danger of being restricted or interrupted. The US is a net exporter of oil but because it's a global market that doesn't mean they are insulated from the price shock. US petrol is up over 30% YTD so maybe a little less than us but still a significant rise.
As reported by ITV political correspondent Robert Peston last night and various newspapers. Take as you will, that's why I put 'apparently'What's the source for that?
