Portable power station instead of a leisure battery?

As tempting as these battery generators are I still don’t think you can beat a lithium leisure battery, dc-dc and solar mppt - my power needs are very modest.

Had an Ecoflow, sold it, bought a lithium, dc-dc and solar panel with mppt (yes, I have also now sold that but that’s not the point - I am mental).

The main issues are:
  • the speed of recharge (though you can sometimes exploit the solar input)
  • Limited high current output (but that's normally for inverters.which are built in)
  • the fact that they lose power idling so you always have to turn them off and on
  • you have to wire it in with connections that are really designed for temporary use, so be careful of them vibrating loose or putting strain on the sockets (which often breaks them)

The upside is it's very portable for other use and they tend to have built in solar.
