Power Source Alternative?

Hello,
Still very new to van conversion etc but this was suggested by a friend as a possible alternative to a leisure battery, seems a handy piece of kit but was wondering people's views or any experiences with one of these or similar as a power source.

Loads of discussion here

Have a look in the for sale section, @Dellmassive has a few up for grabs.
Handy bit of kit even if you have a leisure battery, especially if you're going somewhere with limited electrical hook-ups.

The general issue of if it's right for you usually comes down to two things:

1. If you're happy plugging everything in and out, a bit like camping in a tent, they're fine. If you want fixed things like lights and built in fridge it's harder.
2. Recharging from the vehicle is generally slow as it's via the 12v socket limited to 8A

Lots more discussion of that in the threads

Think I will stick to the original plan of leisure battery, inverter, etc and get a proper hook up done, thanks again for feedback.

Be sure why, and what, you are wanting the inverter for.

240v devices use an enormous amount of power, particularly if they are any form of heater, and if you want that it will dominate your choice of system and spend.

Don't discount a portable power pack if it meets your 240v needs, it would massively simplify your installed system.
