Hi folks,
As part of my day van build wanted to share details of my mobile Wi-fi install.
The overhead cubby in my highline has a blanking plate and rather then just having a mobile Wi-fi unit rollling about in the van I decided to fit the unit into this blanking plate.
Having secured a replacement/spare from Pauly just in case I set to work today.
The wifi unit of choice is a TP-Link M7650, 3G/4G capable of up to 600mb download.

Satisfied with the fit, I set to work creating a back for the hole.
Hunting around I found some bits of plastic that matched colour in the form of a pen holder off an old whiteboard.

Measure twice cut one etc gave me some lengths of plastic to create the sides

Using a soldering iron as a heat source allowed me to precisely bend around the shape of the cut out

With all the pieces cut and test fit I dug out the contact adhesive and glued the sides in.

Next to attach the previously cut out piece as a back it was hot glue gun time.
Tack the corners and then slowly work around in sections until fully glued up

Now clean everything up and hunt through drawers and boxes until I track down the self adhesive Velcro tape:

Very good. Nice write up. Certainly a good use for the space. All my blank panel ever does is rattle!

This is a good idea and a good use of dead space.... Is there a usable power feed up there to power the router...?
