I think it would be dark which ever canvas colour was chosen ,its thicker fabric than I thought , be ok in the day with window covers open, but thinking about kids up in the roof bed, will have to have to temporarily rig the touch sensitive lights up to see what best option to go for, bit of trial and error.
Oh davey b measured from kombi rubber floor to ceiling today 53" so should give you some idea what headroom you have to play with you being a lanky bugger at 6,5

When your roof is coming down do you have to pull the canvas in or is it built to fold inwards, to be honest I don't think I've ever seen a Cali roof operate
Need to have the window open and it should collapse in but you can get a bungee cord to go round.
I had forgot I'd asked this question that's good that you havnt got to worry about catching the canvas thank you @Roadrunner
4 straps at the rear of the roof that clip together, you know if the canvas is pulled in properly in the front as the zip lines up with the sliding roof recess, tuck that up like a envelope
It's under that 2mtr mark with that caravelle seat over the rear axle it's sorted the rear end out
