As above, keep getting the error message on start up, have a brand new correctly specced battery, this has been coded in VCDS, but I am getting no errors logged in VCDS for anything charging / battery related.

Have checked on other posts but what’s listed seems to give fault codes.

Alternator is charging all correctly in the VCDS logs.

Any ideas?

Do you mean Stop just not happening?

I had the same last time I disconnected the battery. Its seems it takes a while driving, before Start/Stop works again. Like several hours / hundreds of km on my 2023 T6.1.

Not that I miss it. I think that function is only for marketing/greenwashing purposes. It won't save any significant diesel fuel in real world driving and will add wear and tear to your Bus, especially the battery and the starter. Turbocharger and EGR may not laike it too.

Did it used to work?

It's the button lit up?

Has it had a defeat device fitted previously or coding altered to prevent it from working?

...are you getting any errors logged in VCDS for anything not charging/battery related?

stop start is one of the first things that gets canned if the whole vehicle electronics isnt in tip top condition with no errors, so if you have any faults, sort them first and you will likely find stop/start will start working.

Never worked since getting the van. Yes the button lights up to turn it off. But when you press the button again it just comes up with the error message in the dash.
Button lit upeans it's switched off.

Press the button so the light is off... That should be normal.

I have a auto switch off device plugged into my button.... You can enable/disable it by pressing and holding the button for 5seconds.

It will either go back to normal, is ON after every drive cycle.

Or

Remember last setting ie was OFF, so it switched it off in next drive cycle.

So try press and hold to see if it goes back to normal.

Try popping the trim off, to see if it has a auto off button installed?.

More Info....

What model is your van?
Depending on the model/age it is possible on older models to disable stop/start via VCDS by changing parameters to make it think that it does not meet the required conditions to work, and I think this can cause messages on the dash. This is typically the stop/start voltage limit setting.
Maybe a previous owner has done this?
