Hi all, hope everyone enjoying august sunshine!

Quick question if I may. Ecoflow battery (river I think), one of USB A slots now doesn’t work. The usb C and the other A work fine.

I have contacted ecoflow who referred me back to Argos but as out of (presumed) year warranty doubt I’ll have much luck.

Anyone had anything similar, if so any fixes?

Many thanks,

Bw

Chris

Is the socket busted?

Ie. jammed in a USB the wrong way, ?

Or is just not putting out power?

There is a reset, press and hold a bottom for ages,

And a full reset running down to 0%

But if the rest of the USB ports work, id imagine it's just that Port.

The warranty period is listed on the ecoflow website for each product.

It's from 1-10yrs.

UK electrical stuff is normally 24,months.... But might be with the manufacturer.

Ecoflow may offer to repair it.

@garyp1969 had his Delta 2 repaired recently.

Thanks for reply.

Usb not physical busted.

Just no power putting out.

I ran down to 0 few times to no effect.

Contacted ecoflow who basically said, not us, go back to where you bought it.

will try the long press reset.

Appreciate input.

Anyone else suffered similar? I was considering pulling trigger on another but haven’t been that impressed with delays in communications etc to be honest

@Chris1983 it isn't as simple as a bit of debris in the slot is it? Typical with mobile phones, albeit that's normally pocket fluff.

Any in particular? 😂
Can’t see anything and tried the usual ‘blow air in’ to rectify.

Nada, but other ports fine. Tried many different leads too to remove that as variable.

What model is it,?

The river 1 is 24mnths

The river 2 and 3 is 5years.

What have the retailer said?

.

Been into Argos, showed them
Email from ecoflow and all receipts. They suggest there is NO agreement between Argos and ecoflow and the best they can do is a partial pro rata refund (so minus my usage).

I have asked them to put that in writing and will go back to ecoflow.

Pretty frustrating morning (lots of time in Argos chat support, to the end message ‘go into a store’)

Manager in Argos refused to write anything down but has said I would need to get an independent (cost to me) report that suggests the item should have lasted beyond now and also that the default is a manufacturing one, not damage incurred through misuse.

I have emailed ecoflow. What a nonsense

The warranty should be upheld.... So ask EF for RMA to have it send back to be repaired.

I thought usually the retailer gets involved in warranty claims for the first year but any remaining warranty is between customer and manufacturer?
I could be wrong.
To me ecoflow look to be the pita in all this so far.

That’s what Argos manager explained. Them up to a year, but manufacturer outside this. But I’ve been conversing for weeks with EF, and they have clearly directed me back to Argos.

My experience of EF customer service was poor (they were slow to reply and kept suggesting the same or similar tests repeatedly) however after a couple of weeks sending them near daily emails they eventually agreed to repair my 12 month old Delta 2, which had stopped charging on 12V and solar.
They provided a shipping label at no cost to me, I had to drop it off at a FedEx pick up point (local newsagent) then it was repaired and returned to me in about a week.
No report provided on the fault/repair however there was a A5 sheet of paper in the box showing how to connect the 12v/solar leads so I assume they were implying a polarity issue.

IMO still a great product though and would buy again.

What Gary says....

Keep on at Ecoflow.

If you are within the 24mnth river1 warranty window they should either repair or replace it.

They should agree to the return and get you a label.

Ecoflow have capitulated and said they will send a postage slip for me to return and they will look at. Thanks all for input. Will feed back if repair/ replace occurs etc

Just an update.

Ecoflow sent a returns slip as you advised. They have yet to return but on my questioning had this to say-

According to the system inspection results, there is damage to the housing/internal structure of your device, as well as damage to the PD board.
If you have any further issues, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Wishing you a pleasant day.

Anyhow, will see if it works when it’s back.

Would be great to know what the damage there is internally. Externally/visually, was the case in a good condition?
Did you spill anything on it? Although it would have had to have been a good aim to get just that USB slot. Was there a damaged USB item ever plugged in?

Anyway - see how it goes from here.
