Direct TPMS Retrofit

Must have been ok because it worked. Got a scare because it was not showing any values but I drove around a bit and the numbers appeared.

I still have the orange tyre warning icon on the cluster though. Couldnt get to the screen with explanation. Should I just clear the faults now ? Manual doesn't mention it.

Edit: Autoscan shows faults in almost every controller. I checked 65 (tyre pressure) which was showing red - not registered but no faults there. Checked can controller and it has a fault which doesn't clear - something about additional installations detected.

I'll attach the scan later
After clearing all faults only three places are left red.

So turns out the kit's firmware was outdated. They provided the update and the error is gone. All working properly.

You just need to TICK the box for address 65 in the INSTALLATION LIST of your module 19 CAN-GATEWAY.

My DIRECT TPMS has stopped seeing pressure reading from my front RHS wheel.

After sensor removal I have double checked its manufacturing date (August 2018).

Lifetime: August 2018 - August 2023
In use: March 2020 - August 2023
I suppose 5 years of a lifetime for a Chinese copy is not so bad?
But effectively this sensor was in use for less than three and half years.

I would expect genuine OEM unit to last twice longer.
I am still using the 3 pressure sensors originally installed in March 2020, they are over 7 years old now. And in use for five and half years. Not so bad I would conclude.

Found these sensors 3AA907275B

Not that I would need them but I think it is a time to have some spares in the back pocket.
Price was temping and quality seems to be promising.
Manufacuting date is quite recent -> 8th of December 2023.
Additionally there are no spelling errors imprinted on this lot :D :p

I have 4 brand new ones, I got them while ago. This Saturday coming I am planning to throw on my winter tyres and I wonder whether I should replace my sensors yet.

I think the sensors have a lifetime of 5-10 years.

Perhaps it would be wise to replace them before doing the work twice.

I found another cool XML file generator
TPMS Dataset Helper
The password for ZIP is dunt.at
And another handy TPMS dataset tool developed by Andrey.
