Don't you you start!! I've always been a bit 50 jobs at once and oh look a squirrelOh, and they’re right, you do have ADHD!!!
You're very kind buddyI think hes got OCD. His attention to detail far exceeds my own.
No, you don't have ADHD but you do have ATSDHSD = Attention To Small Detail & HIGH Standards Disorder. Which is to be proud of, not ashamed of and is untreatable.Hi everyone, hope you're all OK.
Just a few updates.
The best way to contact us is via WhatsApp or a call, so please bear that in mind.
We've now got a Merchandise section on the website. Please take a look and feel free to make a purchase.

We've expanded the kit in the workshop and had a bit of a reorganisation. This allows us to do more of the bespoke work we know we're capable of.
Lastly, we appreciate every single one of you who gets in contact. Outside of this platform, we have Facebook, Instagram, YouTube (coming soon), WhatsApp, SMS, email, plus goodness knows what else I've probably missed.
To give you some idea of the team:
Rob, my brother, runs and maintains the website and our backend systems. He does this voluntarily, and I'm forever grateful as he often has ideas for the business that I haven't thought of and does this alongside his very stressful and his pressure job.
Mrs Dav-Tec now handles the financial side of things when I don't have time and generally gives me a good kick when I need it. She's ultimately my rock.
Ian is my right-hand man in the workshop (who I'd be lost without and were very lucky to have him) He keeps me focused, as he and Alfie (our soon-to-be apprentice once we find him the right course) are convinced I have ADHD.
We've taken on a chap who handles our social media posts. Adam answers some questions and refers anything he doesn't know or any serious enquiries to me and is doing an awesome job.
I do everything else: quoting, invoicing, research, dealing with suppliers, accountants, organising events we're attending, etc.
BY THE WAY, THIS IS BY NO MEANS A COMPLAINT!
That said, I am lucky to say we have a busy workshop and diary, and I truly love my job—it's the best career decision I've ever made.
I do try to get back to everyone in a timely manner. This usually happens at weekends or between 6 pm and 8 pm at night. I've had to start doing this so the workshop stays productive, so please bear with us. We don't ignore people, but admittedly, some can slip through the net, and we apologise. I'm also human and I do make mistakes (ask the wife—she'll have a list somewhere, no doubt).
I felt the need to post this because I feel some of you—whether you're a forum member or someone redirected here from Google—might feel a little unloved sometimes because I haven't got back to you within 24–48 hours. As I've said, this isn't the case.
For those of you who message asking for free advice or pointers, there's absolutely no issue with this. It's a community and we love that; I have no problem giving advice within reason. However, please respect that we are a business with people's wages to pay, and we have to prioritise enquiries from those who want us to carry out work. Unfortunately, some people on various platforms feel it's OK to send rude, abusive, or snide messages because we haven't got back to you with free advice by 2 pm after you sent your message at 7:30 am. From now on, anyone who does that will be ignored. I've instructed the team that we will just ignore the message, and you won't get any advice or pointers to help you fix or upgrade your vehicle yourself. It's that simple.
If you made it this far...
To not end on a sour note, we hope to see you all at Busfest. We'll be on our stand again and we'll have our demo van on show, plus two excellent customers' vehicles. We also have the honour of having @ToddiesT6 as our chef and helping out ad-hoc for the weekend.
Take care, everyone, and hope to hear or see you soon!
Thanks Team Dav-Tec

Hello Chris. My name is Richard White, I came to see you last month about my faulty T6 head unit. You were very busy at the time, and couldn’t give me much attention: perhaps the situation has now eased. I would like to upgrade the unit to provide reversing camera and sat nav, so presumably only a vw unit would do that, ie not a Pioneer unit. I was on the point of making a bid on eBay for a used unit, when a local know all told me that so would not be able to use Apple Car Play, because the software was only licensed to the original vehicle, so that if you put the unit in another vehicle it wouldn’t work. Any views on this?Hi guys and girls,
My name is Chris and I own and run Nottinghamshire-based Dav-Tec along with my wife, Tracy. We've been running around 14 months part time with a view of going full time as the business grows. I am an Electrical and Automation engineer by trade and have over 15 years experience with modifying vehicles of various types.
We offer an ever growing range of products and services. We offer remapping services including fully data logged and custom setup maps, we only use genuine tools from manufacturers such as Alientech and Magicmotorsport. We have recently purchased a Dyno Road tool which is a road going version of a Dyno Cell. It's extremly accurate and gives you a real world dyno graph. The one below is a T6 we recently did with the 2.0 TDI 150ps engine. more info on the Dyno Road can be seen Here.
We also have Diagnostic equipment including ODIS, VCP & VCDS. We work alongside 2 excellent mechanics at Phantom Autoworx who carry out all our mechanical work including servicing, lowering, various bodywork kit fitting and general repair and MOT testing and repairs.
I'm proud to say we get excellent feedback and reviews both on Facebook & Google. Recently we where over the moon to get our best review yet from Matt which can be found here

We are a Ghost immobiliser and MetaTrak tracking systems approved installer, we can fit aftermarket Can-Bus alarm systems that are Thatcham Cat 1 compliant. We also offer complete audio upgrade packages from manufactuers such as JL Audio, Hertz & Audison as well as headunit upgrade from Composition & Discover Media systems to after market units from Kenwood, Pioneer & Sony to name a few.
Day-Van conversion are also something we offer this can be from a simple carpet lining service to our more popular package which include sound deadening and thermal insulation from compaines such as Dodo Mat.
There's probably quite a bit i've not mentioned as I'm not the best at social media. We are fully insured, IMI accredited and TASSA registered.
Thnaks for taking the time to read this.
Chris & Tracy

Review: DAV-TEC
I’ve mentioned @Dav-Tec on other threads, but haven’t actually done a proper review, so I thought it was about time. I first came across @Dav-Tec (Chris) on this forum…. I’d bought myself a custom steering wheel as an upgrade to the crappy plastic thing and needed it coding with VCDS. Chris...www.t6forum.com
Hey Richard, thanks for getting in touch! Sorry we couldn't chat properly last time—our workshop can get super busy, which is why we always advise people on social media and the forums to contact us first via phone or WhatsApp. That way we can make sure you get proper advice and if required book in a slot for a visit and consultation, so you’re not left hanging.Hello Chris. Thanks for your prompt reply, Chris. If you can remember, the faults were the analogue clock stuck on 12, and you noticed that there were dead spots on the screen. Is it just a question of installing new firmware, and putting a new screen in. Accepting that I am never going to get sat nav and a reversing camera.Hey Richard, thanks for getting in touch! About the T6 head unit: you’re spot on that VW units are usually the easiest way to get factory features like reversing camera and sat nav. But your mate’s right—Apple CarPlay on those head units is tied to the original vehicle’s VIN, so if you grab a used one off eBay, CarPlay won’t work unless the unit is properly unlocked or re-coded.
If you want to go through options just ping us on WhatsApp or give us a call. We’ll make sure you get the right setup for your van, with no surprises.
Drop me a call or a WhatsApp bud we'll go from thereThanks for your prompt reply, Chris. 18 months ago I bought Wolfelec tier 2 deadbolts for my van. Electronic Deadbolt Security systems - The WOLFbolt
They tell me it's an easy DIY job... But I don't do vehicle electrics... so it's still in the box.
Would you be able to fit them?
