Hi,
I'm back heeling my pathetic Lion battery on my T6 and thinking of buying a Bosch 850 cca 95Ah. They're listed at around £400 on Euro Car Parts, yet the same brand new battery on ebay is selling at £166. Big difference! I messaged the seller and he says they are genuine units, direct from the manufacturer. Seems too good to be true.

Has anyone bought a brand new Bosch battery on ebay and woyld you recommend or steer clear. Not sure whether there's fake Bosch batteries in circulation...???

Thanks Mr G...they've got mixed reviews, but the negatives are down to poor service, rather than the batteries themselves.

I've been using them for years, service has always been great.
Used for motorcycle, car, jetski batteries. Have had a couple that failed within there warranty and were replaced with no issues.
I'll be replacing the van battery soon and will most likely be from tayna. Check there website and socials (sometimes there is an extra 10% off to be had).

The poor reviews I've seen on there previously have been down to the customer with damaging the battery, not understanding battery chemistry or ordering the wrong things.

Tbh I'm not too clued up about battery coding. I'll be putting the new battery on my T6, so will it need coding or do I fit it and ECM will figure it out itself?

Best practice is to code it however it will learn eventually, just takes a bit longer.

Im sure someone closer than me would happily code it for you for a beer or 2?

Varta make Bosch batteries, save a few quid for what is essentially the same battery.
Eurocarparts have some odd prices sometimes, perhaps for things they really don’t want to be bothered with.
Tanya are a good supplier, the couriers might be the issue with damage.

I ordered from Tanya through Ebay, delivery was good , packaged very well etc .
The only downside is they sent a lower cranking amps than advertised and then blamed it on a typo , I bitched about it and got a partial refund which made it worth keeping.
I would use them again but I would be double checking what they sent .

Look at Tanya online I’ve just bought one from them for our golf gtd all good and had one last year for a motorhome

That same battery is £164.30 from Tanya direct including standard postage.

I can’t see eBay adding anything useful so I’d save the £1.85 and buy direct personally.
