Advice on buying a 2010 T5 Caravelle BiTDI

Hi all, very new to the world of - ahem T5s - and T6s!

(T5 question - can't find a T5 forum online?)

Looking at buying a 2010 Caravelle with what I have come to learn is the dreaded BiTDI, with the potential EGR cooler valve problems.

It has done just over 110k. Might the problem have been expected to have surfaced by now, if it was one of the 'unlucky' units?

Some have gone longer mileages than others before it’s become terminal. A chap local to me has just spent £6k putting a new engine in a Caravelle, that one’s done 83k. You need to check the revision number on the cooler, anything before revision D is buggered, potentially.

I thought D version egrs are the fix....earlier ones have issues? Could be wrong??
