Review: AbsoluT5 Audio

Big shout out to the top @Absolut5 team, I had to wait a while to get an install date but well worth it! Great advice from Jason and competitive pricing and above all intricate knowledge of the T6:) I had the Kenwood DMX 2021 and blam speakers and tweeters - I needed excellent telephone clarity and audio and as the dmx has its own mic and deletes the very poor factory mic the difference is incredible… I work and travel a lot and 2 calls and a voice only zoom call on the way home the difference was a world apart… highly recommended

Many thanks for the feedback Jason

that 8021 is a great little unit , glad you chose it and are really happy with the install..

Evening all,

last week I visited Jason to collect the following kit I’d ordered:-
  • Kenwood DMX8020dab, with facia and Kenwood wiring kit
  • Blam 8” door woofers and new tweeters for the pillars
  • Kenwood 4 channel digital amp
  • Kenwood reversing camera
Great guys who took time to go through the kit and give me tips on how to fit it all. The prep work done before I picked it was really helpful, literally it was just plug and play.

The result is amazing, the sound quality is excellent whether at a sensible or crazy level.

If you’re thinking of sorting out your sound system, speak to Jason.

Paul.

Many thanks for the review, appreciate it alot

ok, I purchased a brand new VWt6.1 conversion in March and its beautiful. But the sound system (can you call it that) sucks. I searched this forum and came across Jason and AbsoluT5 and started communicating. Really nice guy who knows his onions and I ended down in his workshop today and hade the factory fitted stuff ripped out and loaded up with hertz Mille Pro tweeters and woofers, Hertz Centro 10" SW with custom enclosure, Audison 5.600 power amplifier, SW control on the dash and fully cabled etc. I loved the van before but on the drive home, I re-fell in love in with it even more. That bass blew me a 2nd hole.....I am one happy chap.
Thanks Jason, it was so nice meeting someone who is passionate about his work after all these years and comms is as important as the fitting.

I absolutely recommend this company.

Thank you so much for your feedback and using Absolut5, so happy you are enjoying your new set up, and good to have a long chat

Just a note to say a big thanks to Jason at @Absolut5 for persevering with an issue I faced. It was a really odd issue but with Jason’s aftersales support it is now fixed.

Can’t rate the company highly enough and would highly recommend.

Big (belated) thanks to @Absolut5 who just before christmas shipped me a Kenwood DMX2021 head unit. I had a few questions about the install and they talked it through with me, then gave me followup help via email. The install was actually pretty easy - not least because they'd forewarned me to remove the glovebox and side panel etc. Anyway I'm really happy with the 2021 and it proved invaluable as a few weeks later I drove down to the Alps! Having integrated satnav and my music all connected made the driving a breeze - For those who'd like to see the T6 in snow I put together a little video and you can see the head unit in action - thanks @Absolut5 team - happy to recommend them:

Review of Absolut5 @Absolut5

Arrived at Absolut5 to enquire about a new head unit on way home from elsewhere, instantly Noel and Jason went out their way to check a few things on van coding (for free may I add) that I was having issues with. During this Noel pointed out my original VW battery needed replacing (A premium VW converter, 2 VW main dealers and a VW independent dealer had all failed to find this problem) - on replacing my battery in the coming days via another VW garage, a number of issues went away... All thanks to Absolut5.

I'd been debating getting a new head unit for some time as I really enjoy music and although the Alpine setup packed a punch for the price I wanted to go up a level in quality as plan to have the van for years to come.

After the honesty and thoroughness they showed, Absolut5 were a no brainier. They checked over my van, and unfortunately found a number of 'short cuts' had been made in its short lifetime of being converted and also recommended some changes to enable me to fit the sub under the passenger seat and have the diesel heater outlet in a far smarter place. I agreed on that and various other cosmetic changes (which do look so much better) and a Halo 9 with their signature audio package (Hertz). I debated the Halo 9 vs 11 for some time, the 9 fits staggeringly good with dashboard and digital dash.

On stripping the van down (I'd advise any convertor / audio specialist you choose takes this route as the following with show)....they found a leaking leisure battery, that had only recently been replaced by a premium converter, they recommended a route to fix with no pressure and also advised how they diligently route cables and treat an eye wateringly expensive van with the care and precision they should. They then found a tracker from a previous owner that was wired in and could of being interfering with the electrics which they removed. Again a no brainier for me to proceed.

I had an option to use the existing Alpine grills, but with their advice I actually set about sourcing some OEM grills and Hertz badges and created my own this enabling me to sell the Alpine package (they give your everything back from your previous setup!) with inspiration from @MrSkip I set about creating my own which they used and look superb, even though one of the grills had a broken attachment they managed to fix!

I'll do a further review on their signature setup but in short it's outstanding. I listen to a mix of music from electronic to rock, trip-hop to hop hop, and it's simply another level of listening pleasure. They also fitted a leisure switch so my dog can enjoy when left alone for short whiles. He's very happy too. They also did some great wiring with the Halo and an existing media unit on the ceiling in the back. Jason gave me a full demo on handover and Noel has been kind enough to talk me through all the work over the phone and answer multiple questions I had after a week's use and getting used to it and look forward to them doing more work to my vehicles in the future.

Service 10/10, highly recommend.
