Got my renewal from A Plan, £535 for me and the missus, fully comp. Rung brentacre and they said £510. Rung back A plan , they couldnt beat it but they matched it. We stuck with A Plan for another 12 months

Just taken out my insurance policy with A-plan! ALL mods declared including the new Air suspension. Very reasonable premium and extremely knowledgeable staff on the phone!
Well worth checking out A-Plan if your due soon!! Insured after AIR

They came in at twice my current quote. And I found they were quite rude on the phone.

Oh, sorry to hear that. I just had a great experience and not very often we find time to tell others so just doing my bit.

I was really shocked, as had read loads of threads with people praising them

I have been insured with them for the 4 years I’ve owned my van. Never had any issues with them. Sorry to hear that you’ve not found the same experience.

Yep, I just renewed mine last week with A-plan and was a pleasant experience.. as much as buying insurance can be  I don't think they are the cheapest but are specialised in the van with mods field. We agreed a total loss figure (van + mods) and that was the basis for the premium.

I've just swapped over to A Plan, £730 for fully comp, all mods delcared and a total loss figure.

I thought they were really helpful and very well priced.

Another shout out for A plan, saved me £60 from current insurer just Kampers.
Really knowledgeable and understanding, when discussing mods.

Was insured with Adrian Flux on a policy limited to 9000 miles, they wanted to charge me £80 extra to increase it to 12,000. After reading the thread on here called A Plan and got a better deal..... result!

Caution for those who don’t read the small print... (like me)

I’m not covered to drive any domestic vehicles, it’s purely a commercial policy, so fully covered for my bus and 3rd party for anyone else’s bus.

I’m not covered to drive my wife’s, hers is a company car and they’ve added me as a named driver.

I just got a good quote from A-Plan which covers all the mods I am making for converting a T6 Kombi to a camper. Like for like the quote was £36 cheaper than JustKampers 'Camper in Conversion' quote. A-Plan also threw in a £50 shopping voucher. However, when I did due diligence etc, I looked up the underwriter which is MakerStudy. The TrustPilot reviews are scary: Markerstudy is rated "Bad" with 1.4 / 5 on Trustpilot

I used A-Plan from about 2010 to 2014, and they were excellent. I had to make a claim too. Anyone had experience with this underwriter? I wonder to what extent, in the event of a claim,I would deal with the underwriter anyway?

Ill give A-Plan a tick, got me a cracking deal on my new policy as More Than wouldn't cover my mods.

@Cugel we have a 3rd party claim going through at the moment with them for the “towbar mounted bike rack incident” you may have read. All going smoothly so far

Interesting thread, i was with A plan for 2 years, in july this year they quoted me £480 fully comp for me and the wife, fully converted customised campervan.
I rang brentacre and got the same cover for £380 which was a good deal.

Morning fellow Van-ites....Just arranged my insurance this morning with A-Plan who I thought were very helpful (thanks Ibrahim)...very competitive too, £400 pa, with limited miles and with hopefully an agreed valuation of 52K (TBC) at no extra cost...where as Flux wanted £150 just to do the AV.!!
No mention of a Tracker being required, unlike some other insurance companies wanted for that valuation. I might get one fitted in time though, although not a cheap thing to have fitted, and the ongoing cost pa. Peace of mind I guess with such a money pit! :)

Make sure you are covered for parking on the street overnight, that seems to be the limitation when vans are over 45K valuation.

Ok yup....im fortunate enough to have an alarmed garage to keep my 'money pit' in whilst at home.
They agreed my valuation within about 5 minutes!...Flux took about 5 weeks with my car!
