Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

What site is that?
Lynn Gwynant. Good food and a small brewery on-site. Next to a lake and they rent SUPs, kayaks etc if you didn’t bring your own. They have EHU and non-EHU. Good showers and facilities made it worth it.

You can jump on the bus (S4) at a nearby stop to Pen y Pass to do the Pyg Track or Miners Track, or go go south to Watkins Path. All those are also walkable within an hour. We decided not to start our first climb up Snowdon with an extra hour of walking though. Bus was £5 return for an adult and kid.

So, a few days worth of updates.... We've gone from Les Gets up there 👆and down there 👇

Through France via a campsite near the champagne region (I think)

To one in Ardres (which was lovely, the guy didn't speak a word of english, so did it all via translate on his phone, but he couldn't have been more helpful or proud of his campsite!) near the tunnel

onto the tunnel this morning, then a bloody awful drive up the M25 and M40 (the driving is really awful, everyone constantly battling to get ahead, the congestion real bad, the M25 seems to be constructed out of concrete slabs nudged up against each other with big trenches in between!? Badum badum badum badum......

Breaking the journey here

Them two gone off to the pool whilst I have a beer and update this thread with a load of wasps to keep me company. Last leg back to sunny Blackpool tomorrow am.

Approx 2000 miles over 20 days, 5 countries not including UK.

The whole driving thing gets a bit boring after a while , M25 is truly hateful 😖
We're going on the boat this year for a change

3 hours on the M6 North in Lancashire 🤬 Tebay absolute bedlam.
Now relaxing with a beer at Maryport Harbourside Caravan Park

Short walk to a choice of pubs after dinner 👍

For those who like to wild camp, there's a surprisingly large and free parking area just behind where the previous photo was taken from, right on the (rather grim) beach:

Thanks for the tip - one to add to the list for the future!

Arrived at Camping sous Les etoiles just south of Caen this afternoon. Had a bit of a hiccup on the ferry as for some reason my van wouldn’t start when we got back to it (sorry to the folk I held up) a ferry worker brought along his portable jump starter and it worked straight away. I have my battery charger with me so connected it up at the site and the battery charged fully in quite a short time. Hope it is just the battery that is the issue.

How do these vans always know when it's the most inconvenient time to play-up?

Think I'll give mine a stern talking to before we set off for France.

Just spent three days in Shropshire at Small Batch Camping at the foot of the Long Mynd in Little Stretton. Very quiet site with somewhat rustic facilities but worth it for the peace and quiet. It also completed the golden ratio of great site, great walks from the site and two pubs 10 mins walk away from the village! It is good, isn't it, straight onto the footpaths from the field!
