What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Big day today!

Collected the van, with a new Storm poptop, Fiamma 43, Vamoose rail, spotlights and then off to Davenco to pick up the furniture (which is not fully fitted, just enough to get me back to Germany...) Altro also down only loosely to get it back. Coming together quickly now though!

Given Remy (the van’s name) its first wash under my ownership at the local jet wash…not that you’d know! I need to get a hose extension for my Karcher, and perhaps one of those stubby lance things I keep seeing on TikTok (unless someone tells me they’re junk) so I can do it myself.

Today’s rant…why do most jet wash places have hoses that are barely long enough to get round a van? I used to own a coffee van and I always had the same issue and yet to find a decent one in the local area! Grrrr! Any recommendations of which places to look out for? Pretty sure there’s a decent one in Swindon but unless I’m over that way for something else, it’s a bit of a trek for a car wash!

Vanstyle silver aluminium checkerplate bumper lip protector etch primed and sprayed satin black. Well chuffed with the results. I'll just respray it when it starts looking tired 👍 £70 all in plus a bit of spray painting skill.

@Sladie07. Looks shiny enough to me. On the stubby lance / gun thing, IMHO they're definitely worth it but don't buy cheap buy twice. I did a bit of research before buying my MTM SGS35 for about £75 with the foam attachment and bottle (lances were extra but cheap enough as a set).
On car washes, I actually treated my van to a clean near Avignon a few days ago after leaving a campsite as it was covered in what I think was lime tree sap (and I do mean covered!). The drive in place that we went to at a SuperU supermarket was fantastic and the lances all came out of the ceiling and were plenty long enough. We chose our bay because it even had a gantry that you could climb up and give the roof a good going over. TBH, I've never used one in the UK or paid them any particular attention so don't know whether they exist at home like that.

Thanks for the advice. I did wonder if the cheapo things from TikTok were crap, so I’ll look for something a bit better. I’m not a big fan of washing cars but for some reason I feel the need to keep this one clean. At least for now!
Never heard of a car wash like that, that sounds awesome! I’ve just found one not too far away that seems to have really good reviews, including proper snow foam apparently, so I’ll give that a go

Maybe it’s a leisurely start, ½hr very gentle driving to conserve fuel in these uncertain times, pitch up, bottle of Rioja, early night and repeat 13 times?
If so, I like your style!
