What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I had a puncture on the van (large screw) and used the standard jack and wrench to remove the wheel. I was pleasantly surprised how well the scissor jack worked however the standard wrench is a poor design when trying to remove the locking wheel nut. The wrench is designed with the handle at an angle from the socket but this puts too much angled force on the shallow design of the locking wheel nut key. I manged to loosen it off but it could have rounded quite easily and I will definitely be carrying my torque wrench in the van from now on.

Yeah i know exactly what you mean Jimer , had me twitching for a minute when trying to remove my lockers that were a tad tight just before Christmas.

I got rid of my locking wheel nuts for that same reason, my van is in a secure and alarmed building when I'm not using it and I'd prefer not to be messing about with locking wheel nuts if I get a puncture when I am using it.

Sorry lads, me again. Another nice easy one done whilst the rain stopped this afternoon.
Made a small loom that is spliced on to each doors KL58D wire ( grey/blue) and grounded to the earth studs at bottom of each dash end, behind rubber flooring. The now new 'footwell ambient' lights, work when the headlight switch set to 'auto' and come on only during low ambient light levels with the instrumentation back lights.
Fitted new lights that give a much better but not to over powering glow. The look and result I was after.
The existing footwell light loom, I extended the loom and routed to the bottom of door cards. This will now be used as the new entry lights once I fit them.
No coding required.

Part number for 4pin connector is 8K0973754. Other Pn's in pic for lights.

That's spooky, I'm just about to do something similar, must be some sort of weird subconscious central connection from the Forum! 😂

Washed it prior to its service tomorrow, unsure whether VW Commercial dealers will offer this service like most dealerships, while im not extreme when it comes to detailing, I prefer to do it myself. Last time I had a dealer wash, it cost the dealers a full detail after scratching the roof of my car so badly, I simply request its not done.

Well that’s a 3ltr water heater fitted, needs some basic tidy up but it was pure hell. Forgot how bad it is working in a small cupboard with the sliding door shut as it’s raining. No leaks this far but doing a few heat cycles to test further.

Also fitted a new mixer tape and drain in preparation for fitting a underslung waste water tank at weekend.

Reminds me, with Spring Camp fast approaching, I still haven't tested our Joolca Nomad hotty water kitchen sink machine, this bl00dy weather gets on yer diddies! It's just sat there in the garage looking at me in anticipation!

Finally sorted a rug for back (challenge was always the barrel door on the hillside). I’ve taken off the wheel on bottom and it works fine. And all lines up great. So I’m chuffed. Just need to get some sticky tape double sided stuff to hold fully flat.

I had tried to seek out a fat Bob custom job but the barrel door clearance always stymied that option. This was just a cheap rug cut to fit from Amazon. Will see how holds up IMG_6081.webpIMG_6082.webp
