What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I found some mayonnaise in my oil filler spout, I do a mixture of driving and not all short trips, no oil in coolant and only 14k miles, oil change at 12k.

A quick search on this forum suggests that the pipe which is raised above the engine for ease of topping up is in a bit of a draft and never warms up in these colder months, hence any moisture condenses in the cold pipe, this is evident by the mayonnaise only being on the side facing the grill.

After spooning out the mayo, I have wrapped the pipe in foiled bubble wrap and a bit of foil tape, its sold as Thermawrap Spiral Pipe Insulation and for £3.75 its worth a try to shield it from the wind chill.

Purchased the genuine battery cover from vanstyle, having previously got one from EBay which was good quality, I damaged it trying to fit my battery charger plug and it was no longer in stock.
I did originally order a replacement from transporter HQ, and all I will say is DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!
Turned up and the quality was utter crap! For an extra few quid you can buy the genuine one.
Listed for T5, with a little trim around the front wing, it fits the T6 perfectly.

So this weekend has been a busy one
Yesterday had an MOT done with the team @BognorMotors where as always the service was A1 (Thanks Oli)
The afternoon was spent finally finishing the diesel heater and fitting the badgeless grille (This has divided everyone who’s seen it so far)
Today has been a deep clean in readiness for a machine polish appointment in a couple of weeks.
Next weekend is a driving one up to Camper Mart 😎

Badge-less grill looks smart. Finishes the front end off. Did you change out the rest of the front end to gloss black or just the grill??

I’ve just changed the grille out at the moment as want to live with it for while
The people that like the badgeless one all have said the same it gives the front end a mean look.
And it’s got a Sportline kit I agree with them.
So maybe a gloss badge grille up for sale soon 😂

That looks great, I'm considering the badge less grille too and when asking my mates, they also all had different opinions on it, even when shown examples.

I settled on a black badge for now. I also think it looks mean without the badge.

Replaced the original (2017 Caravelle) Varta 75Ah AGM starter battery as it was beginning to struggle in the cold weather... thought better to replace now, before I'm stranded somewhere inconvenient. Managed to squeeze in a Varta 95 Ah AGM (£155 from Tayna) - even got the frost cover back (mostly) round it with the help of some gaffer tape. Used OBD11 to change details to 095 VA0 2401202600, reset the 1-touch electric window and the clock - sprang into life when I started it this morning :)
