What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

What kit did you use?
2x 5m led cob strings from SCR distribution. £50 a string. As @Bigsidavies says, they aren't waterproof, we just have to hope it doesn't rain upwards! The corners are the tough bits, but Amazon sells some L junctions that perhaps I should have fitted... They do knock a fiver off because you'll only need one BT controller.

They’ve gone up in price. They were £35 last October when I last bought some 5m lengths.

I had my van for a week and sodding tight NHS car parks introduced side of van to a bollard. Never been so frustrated. Luckily good paint/ repair place managed to fix and paint pane to a decent enough standard for a few hundred, rather than £££££££££££ I learnt a lesson that day. And have considered side bars since. Are they straightforward to fit? I already have mudguards
Could you recommend your good paint/repair place?

Yes. You might need to trim the plastic undertray. The tricky part is not dropping the Tbolts inside a hole in the sill. If you are lucky, they come with clips to keep the bolts on the bracket.

If you are unlucky you will lose one forever to the inside. To avoid this, you can very loosely attach them to the bracket and still wiggle it into the hole.
Anyone know/ installed a relatively cheap set of bars, I don’t really care what they look like. Function over form or whatever

Fitted ( in seconds - took me longer to unpack the delivery!) my new “Eyesopen” blinds for the tailgate, slider and fixed windows. Went to view the product a few weeks ago before submitting online order. Really pleased and highly recommended alternative to Vanshades or the usual ‘sucker style’. (I do have sucker style for the front cab which I’m happy with but as I tend to leave the rear rigged a lot more I wanted something a bit plusher and in keeping with the van).
They fix with magnets and if you ask for the uprated magnets on Crew Window, they will work with carpet lining. Have straps so you can roll up and leave attached, but so easy I’ll simply whip them on and off as required.

To answer questions in advance.

Mines a T6.1

1. These cost me £159 for the K2 thermal uprated version for the rear. (I had at no cost, the magnet for side moved up 2” to miss heated window connection). If no heated window you are fine.

2. Sides are £155 each for K2 ( uprated magnets upon request FOC).

3. Yes, I confirm work a treat with carpet lining.

4. I have rear dash cam (Blackvue ) and fits over camera no bother.

Exactly what I was after, as Vanshades for me was overkill. Mine is more of a van Day van/site van that you could sleep in if needed.

Keeps the van cooler. Protects my gear inside from sun damage so happy days.

Check them out: (I have no affiliation, just came across them online).

Lastly, just my view, if you look on the website they do have them for the T6.1 front but the fit was not the best with my rear view mirror and dash cam. Also the side windows, the magnets sit on the part of the window that butts up against the weather seal when door closed which put me off. HOWEVER, I cannot fault the rears👍👍.

Appreciate not for everyone but suit me 😎.

Now …….. what’s next. Ah yes…… solar panel 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤣
