What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Emptied out the van, hoovered and cleaned under the bed, I’m not sure if I’ve ever fully emptied it out before but pretty dirty in the corners and some surface rust on the bed frame!. Repacked with new approach. Chairs crossways in boot bottom as well as other long gear, everything else under the front and the plan is to keep the bedding semi ready in the top of the boot and use the wardrobe for clothes (currently used to store bedding in transit)

Took the van down the beach (5 mins from my house) to put up the Cocoon Breeze awning I got with the van up for the first time to decided if we want to keep or get something smaller.

Managed to get it put up in about 15 mins without falling out with the wife and with 2 kids and the dog running around.

Great bit of kit just super bulky. I think we will be getting rid as it just take up to much space for us but amazing if it fits your needs.

Just a quickly thrown up. No judgement 🤣
Lots of room though

Yeah it's really great. So much room and so easy to put up. Few pegs, blow the tubes up and more pegs. The time would be to refine its position and peg placement.

Really can't fault it's quality. It's just the bulk in the van. The amount of stuff we take away for 2 kids and bikes already fills the van 🙃

Grab handle and eye lashing :)
Used original spots where additional seatbelts can be fitted, so important is type of bold / eye bold - 7/16" UNF.

... and underneath the bed as well ...

Evening,

would like to fit some kind of grab handle at second row of seats - searching for inspiration.
How it's fitted to the body? Just via rivet nuts or is there any bracket or so? Do you have any pictures?

TIA
There's a factory bracket (in mine) that is rivetted to the frame. Didn't take pics as it's behind the headlining. I had stripped the thread on the original bracket.

I dare say a rivnut in the right place would be just as good to allow a second row handle.

Yup. I’ve done this. Snaps far too easily. Expensive trip to the garage.
Not sure if lucky but my usual garage was to busy to fit me in so a rushed amazon order and an early delivery Saturday.. drilled out the threads.. tapped new ones and helicoils fitted, new bolts fitted and happy to report back like new!! the cost of 2 bolts, extraction tools x2 and a tapping kit.. and probably 10 years off my like haha

Drop me a link to the advert if you decide to get rid, I'm probably going to be in the market for a drive away awning now it's no longer just me in the van...:rofl:

Me + 3 bikes + lady friend and her 10 year old daughter, my van only sleeps one so we've been using a tent but a driveway awning with a proper separate bedroom will be better for the longer stays.

Very impressed. I panicked and paid a pro. Cost me a couple hundo.

The last couple of days I've noticed a rubbing on full lock when turning left, today when walking back to the van I discovered why that was...

I'll try and take look later but looks like at least one of the bolt holes has been pulled through the plastic...

Wonder if 2cv wheels would be appropriately rated for your van?

It's not the wheels that have pulled it off, think I must have parked over something which caught it, I've had zero rubbing over the last few thousand miles with the wheels. Hopefully it's not too much work to get it to pop back in!

Might need a washer if it's pulled through the plastic. It'll be reet. Spray paint the washer black hehe
