What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

fitted an internal tailgate momentary switch and some wiring for lights. Then my jigsaw gave up the ghost as I was cutting a hole in the ply panel for the lights :/

Tackled the upgrade to the seats, need to get some little fencing hog rings to finish the backrest off so here are my 'topless' seats, quite pleased with how the bases have turned out. Not a difficult job just a bit fiddly, 2nd one a whole lot quicker than the first once I got the hang of it. Backrests are going to be slightly more challenging as the leather not quite as flexible compared to the thin cloth.

Suede lined the roof panels as well today, tomorrow is carpet lining the metal work...………….

Nice work on the seats. Did you line the OEM roof panels? How did you do the joining pieces?
Thanks, yep just used the OEM panels, not done the joining pieces as yet, was going to put the panels back in first and see how it looks first.

Fitted the double trim stuff on the doors. Shuts like a golf now :) Dunno how much difference it will make but another thing ticked off the list:thumbsup:

Took some pics of the grilles and mirror surrounds for the last time in matt. Off to the body shop tomorrow for gloss black and splitter to be added.IMG_20190422_150430.webp IMG_20190422_150438.webp

New ply roof panels as the originals were a bit beaten up!

Made a couple of splitter looms to allow me to add 2 more oem roof lights as well as reposition them slightly.

Then did the obvious and slid some LED bulbs into them!

Where did you get the ply panels from? How was the fit and location of the holes?

I bought them from Custom Designs via their Ebay listings. I added a message at 'buy it now' asking to omit the light cutouts (so I could position them myself).

The panel profile is excellent and the hole placement is pretty good. With the holes all being the larger diameter (there were a few smaller holes on the oem panels) there is enough 'float' to get all clips in easily enough.

I bought the other ply panels in the van from them too. They were just as good.

Ah ok, I returned mine from there as they were shocking, as some others found:
