....ordered some C-channel clamps to stop the awning sliding out of position when putting up / re-connecting the drive away tunnel.

Not what have I bought today, rather what have I broken today They seemed like a good idea, and seemed to do the trick the first few days of use, but I now need to buy a new figure 8 channel for the drive-away kit, since the little b*gger split one right down the middle resulting in two C - channels instead! (Maybe I over-tightened it )

@GUMY. I always thought that those little devices were designed to just slot into the awning rail itself to stop the kador (or figure 8) from moving past a particular spot. TBH, if you're trying to stop the awning from sliding in the Figure 8, I suspect you're using the wrong thing and some gaffer tape would be a better option (IME, it often is!).

I think you're right, but my awning rail is a dead end at the front (probably normal) so the kador can't slide too far forward. The kador strip is longer than the awning rail (I had to cut some off to stop it catching in the tailgate). But the problem I had was the awning itself moving one way or the other along the kador while trying to peg it down - hence I was trying to use the little widgets on the awning side of the figure 8 rods.
Two years on I'm still trying to figure the best way to put the awning up

I was running a small monitor and Firestick but it was just a clunky/slow setup.

Tablet is rapid in comparison.

Wired in an extra usb-c port for permanent power.

These kids dont know how good they've got it. It was counting Eddie Stobart lorries when I was a kid.

We had to settle for putting WWII ammunition (of which there was plenty about at the time) in a vice nailed to a plank of wood, drag it out onto Bodmin Moor, and then set it off by whacking it with a hammer. If we'd had tablets then we'd have probably used them for target practice.

I remember doing something very similar with 12 bore cartridges. Danger didn’t come into it, just a loud band and s**t loads of laughs.

I grew up in 1960s London and there were still a few bomb sites left over from the the war where me and my mate's favourite pasttime was making amateur pipe bombs. For obvious reasons, I won't go into details of the recipe but suffice top say that a length of copper pipe was filled, had the ends bent over to seal it and a length of Jetex fuse (IFYKYK) was poked through a small hole drilled in the pipe - just light the fuse and run to a safe distance. I've always loved blowing sh1t up and eventually managed to do it as part of the job when I went out to work!.

Just bolted in a Kiravans double swivel base, bizarrely found 5 Canadian coins under the rubber matting when I lifted it to tuck away the cables and connectors.

Use my new oven/grill/air fryer down the beach yesterday for the kids pizza. Worked a dream. Pulled about 1800w on powering up for about 3 mins then sat between 800-1200w. Cooked a full size (cut in half) pizza in < 10 mins.

Worked flawless on both LB/inverter and Jackery 1000 as a test.

It's bulky but great for my kids who only eat beige food.

Next weekend is the test. We’ve been hectic with other stuff and finally get to use it next Friday. I’ll report back. We are pretty good, the old 100Ah lead acid lasted us a good 3 days. To be fair, that’s probably what ruined the old battery. I’m hoping for a full long weekend.
