P&O Ferry ticket, Hull to Rotterdam return, in the middle of February £440, it was £710 inc discount with DFDS from Newcastle, crazy prices, that’s cheapest cabins and just buffet breakfasts for two, its an extra 45 mins drive to Hull (for us) so happy to bank the difference, and that will be spent on crossing the big bridge etc over into Sweden.

If you aren't that bothered about doing the bridges you can do the ferry from Rodby to Puttgarden and then Helsingor to Helsingborg which takes roughly the same time but saves fuel and as a combined ticket was slightly cheaper than the bridges and gives you a break from driving. Also Helsingborg is a lovely place to stopover or just go for a look around.
We did that route both ways on our Norway trip and it was really easy, but I don't get excited about bridges, I know some people look forward to crossing the Oresund bridge.

I’ll look into that route, we are looking to do the fastest route possible, two drivers, but without driving at night, heading up to the top of Sweden, and a few days in Finland, it’s about 1700 miles from Amsterdam…
There seems to be many options, all at varying prices, I still need to find out if the tunnel is a separate toll before the Oresund bridge.

You can stopover in the harbour at Helsingborg which has showers. We had a day/night in Helsingborg on the return journey as we liked what we saw on the outbound leg. Really nice place.

Thanks, might be a good option as we will probably need a night stop over before the crossings.

After seeing a few members treating themselves to a “premium look” upgrade, I figured I’d jump on the bandwagon too. The new ring was a very snug fit, so I whipped out the switch (10 seconds thanks to YouTube ) gave the edges a light sand, and the switch with the ring now on popped straight back in....Job done!

Best bit? For once, an upgrade that didn’t break the bank… which makes a nice change. Although to get the free postage I had to top the basket up with hair clips for the missus, Happy wife, happy life

An internal thermal/blackout screen, self supporting, no suckers! Folds up nicely too, only thing to be aware of is, you will need to remove the THQ rubber strip if you have one fitted at bottom of screen, so blind can sit in nicely, a 3 second job, brought from ZEAUSAVANGEAR, made in Uk and they do a whole range of magnetic fit blinds.
We usually use the external screen but want an alternative with us if we park up in big storm, we are planning an Arctic circle road trip up into Sweden/Finland in February.

I have the front side window ones as and these have magnets in edges to hold in place. The front fits in slot between dash and windscreen and then i use sun visor to hold top. It has some popets you can screw to hold sides but it’s a very good fit I have not had to use them.

Expensive day yesterday, LeShuttle return tickets for middle of May, 2 nights camping on the banks of the Seine, 4 nights camping in Amsterdam with a couple of mates in vans! Then the clutch goes on the nippers Fart 500 on the way to its MOT, broken down by the old Perry Barr dogs/speedway stadium! Could have done without that. The Police Chick was hot though...
