What Have You Bought Today?

So it would seem that VCDS is able to tell the van that there's a new AGM battery in place but Carista can't (because Carista deem it unnecessary). I guess the acid test would be if anybody has actually changed from EFB to AGM and NOT told the van that new a battery type has been used as a replacement (ie. perhaps a Carista user!) and had problems or otherwise as a consequence. From comments above, it would seem that there might be at least one person who made the change with no ill effects so far. Speaking for myself, I suspect it's just too early to tell as it's only been a week and I've only driven the van once since the switch.
Anybody else?
Changed my battery from efb to agm. Started fine but couldn't change it on carista. My bluetti charger 1 was playing up so lad from forum hooked it up to vcds and changed battery type to agm. Charger 1 working fine now.

Oooh, that’s interesting. I have a Charger 1 waiting to be installed when I get time. Wonder if I will need to do the same change to the coding then.

Just out of interest, do the buttons on your Bluetti rattle? Just tracked my new rattle down to the buttons on my Bluetti 100 v2. 😥

Fine when in the Bluetti bag I bought but not when in use and driving as can’t leave it in the bag and so the buttons rattle.

I've gone back to Carista to question their response (as reported above). Basically I just said that people on the forum 'beg to differ' with the Carista view and advised them that other devices like OBD11 and VCDS seem to consider it necessary to include battery chemistry as an option. We will see if / how they respond.

Carista certainly allow it to register battery type at least fro BMW -

So not sure why not for VAG.

Not that I have noticed. I do have it in an ali express bag though that allows it to be used whilst still fitted with bits of velcro etc. I'll keep an ear out.

Cheers. Posted a separate thread to see if anyone else had this. It’s have a Bluetti bag which solves it, but not whilst in use when driving along.

Try removing the bag and tapping the buttons to see if they make a noise?

Replaced the red lower bumper trims. My all seasons Vw originals that they painted were lifting. Got these from van style and they click back in without removing the bumper literally took 2 mins.

**WARNING - dumb question alert**

I've just been looking at these on Van Style's website, but was confused (easily done!) because it said they were a 5-piece set. From what I can see of yours, there looks to be 2 pieces either side of the reg plate, so where's the 5th piece go?

Drivers side has 3 pieces on front where as other side there are 2 pieces. If you check your van now it’s the same 👍🏻

Just a quick test on my new 120w solar blanket that was on special yesterday...certainly can't complain about the results...or the price..$199 aud.
I normally connect to aux battery setup but just connected to starter battery via Victron 75/15.
Bought to replace 6 year old blanket that gave up recently. Be interesting to see how long this one lasts..🤞
Happy New Year..Cheers.
