xxxxxx is a tractor of interest at the moment Mrs felt it was a lot larger than what we have previously particularly the width and wonder if it would be tight fit for some of the planed work. I explained that for its size it needs to be wide for stability she agreed.
Thought it was tidy but front mudguards where slightly damaged leading edge in some way. I said it has been working with front implements and have seen imagery of others with small pieces out of the same so perhaps their is some contact either with the linkage or machinery no bog deal but the orional pictures are from some time ago. Evidently it was sold and resold back after a little while, the new owner then bought a digger instead, He had been clearing ditches with steep embankments. the cab was OK. She was not impressed in the first instance of her viewing because the guy new nothing and could not operate it so he called his brother who was much better.
He started the Tractor and showed how everything worked We both had been unsure about the front linkage as imagery showed no hydraulic cylinders however the linkage was shown to go up and down, it also goes side to side. The rear triple linkage operated fine as did the PTO. We need it to tow as well as carry and it had no rear hook or anything. It did have something that a device might be bolted too and I have seen images of similar tractors with agricultural hooks. It might be best if normal civil hitch such as a LR might have and an agricultural hitch as well or be able to swap them over. She was told it did not have have a hitch but normally in that situation a cross bar or load bar connecting the two lift arms could be fitted with a pintle of some sort or perhaps the front mounting could be put into the rear mounting place I have seen these crossbar mounted pintle farming magazines, I wonder if there is legislation about towing with tractors and fittings ect. Most of the controlls are operated by switch gear and there are banks of them with sighns appointed in a printed labled map to identify which does what. Verieous fighter jet joy sticks operate or can be chosen to operate verious hydraulics and bit and peices. The sterring modes front steer, rear steer, alternate steer, crab steer, can all be selected by switch.. Even the fighter type joysticks have multiple rubber press buttons. The cab is airconditioned. The drive is Hydostatic. No equipment comes with it, though it does have a front propshaft for a mower or something, no rear prop shaft given with the rear. The front likage it was explained had machined ends for specific machinary it does look different to anything that I have seen before. I do not know if that might present aproblem for mounting ones own or purchased machinary or wether it only accepts manufacturers own machinary. The rear linkage is common and normal. They can deliver, they know Wales but offered no negotiation but know that we both would come up in alittle while for a more detailed look and aprazal.
My wife was impresd by the way she was treated, they where polite but not chauvinistic in any way, no suggestion of the liitle woman. They where helpful but she declined a test drive, she had along jouney ahead and needed to press on. So wow, lot of machine and a lot of cash will need new equipment bit at a time. Need to get it registered for the road it has a numberplate ..Do tractors need an MOT not sure how to progress with that side of things. My licence is vey old so lots of classes on it more than what is given to youngsters today so can I even drive it down the road insurance probably NFU does that. Never had to consider these things before. I should have thought about that, never took our other tractor any where. When we had the UNIMOG from Atkinsons we, forced them into regersting it as a car which razes eybrows and protest with them but they did comlply. We need to have a good think, it is powerful seems in good order, a bit strange and foreighn but could easily do more than the job but is it too big, something smaller more normal perhaps do not know.. For sure I could see my self using it but perhaps procrastination is it a bit of weding nerves because of the outlay. mmmmm excited but catious. Forever the great procrastinator. I know if it went else wher I would be put out.
Link Box did not know they where any different to a transport box. I bought one for the AGT 835 yhat I could use for scrapping tracks but it also had a removable rear plate or door. No idea what is on the market today have mainly concentrated on the Caravelle and daughters Duster so compleatly out of touch.
