What Have You Bought Today?

Need to make sure that tower doesn't come in contact with the side of the van while your busy working on the top ;)

I went to see @Tourershine a few years ago and he had giant foam buffers for his scaffold tower for when up against caravans when cleaning them.

Perhaps some thick pipe lagging taped to the edge??

Also have to be mindfull of your size 10s poking off the edge of the platform and scuffing the paint.
Absolutely, no rubbing allowed until it's protected :think smile bounce:

I have an old beach towel I bungee around the ladder, but will need to come up with something different for this. The pipe lagging is a good shout.

Went to Bognor Motors for a suspension upgrade and a new EGR valve, the dealership I got my van from paid for the EGR replacement thank goodness and treated myself to the upgrade. And what a difference it has made to how the van drives. No more wallowing, and knowing you don’t need another steering input halfway through a corner and your exiting point is actually where you intended. Amazing job with amazing results. Thank you Bognor Motors.

Not bought, but arrived today an alpicool 60 litre fridge/freezer, slowly all coming together, but it looks like Evri have lost the awning carpet I bought, can I say i'm surprised about Evri, not at all they also lost my mats for the van, I can see a pattern emerging lol.

If online retailers were upfront about who they use for their deliveries, before you complete an order, EVRI would probably be out of business by now. Unfortunately they're not, and presumably EVRI are dirt cheap - no other reason why any self respecting business whould risk their reputation by entrusting their deliveries to such a cowboy operation. Having once worked as a courier for FedeX (who at that time, at least, ran a very professional operation), I found the recent Panorama docu pretty shocking.

thats exactly it, theres no way I would have ordered, if i knew Evri were involved. Was due to be delivered 25-27th, Surprise surprise at 1645 I got notification, 'sorry we couldnt deliver today, we will deliver the next working day', as yet I've not heard anything else, I suspect its gone into some kind of void, of course I could be wrong but i seriously doubt it.

Been talking to my local Evri guy these last few weeks. He is spot on but has divulged some shocking practises....

If a parcel is damaged or the label is missing or illegible, it gets chucked in a skip. Evri drivers and sorting staff can just help themselves to what's in there......

Ironically, whilst I've ordered stuff which EVRI have either failed to deliver, or delivered without any notice and just left on my doorstep while I was out, I also recently had one of their drivers try twice to deliver a package to me which I pointed out to him had a competely different address on. Presumably determined that I should do his job for him one way or another, I eventually found the package on my doorstep anyway - he never rang or knocked the third time, just left it there. I opened the package, which contained a kiddie's snuggy, and donated it to a local charity shop the next day. I hope the intended recipient got their refund.

In fairness to the drivers, I think they have an impossible task and get paid a pittance per parcel "delivered". In my time with Fedex, I was supplied with a company uniform, used their liveried truck (7.5T) and felt like a professional. I delivered almost entirely to businesses (very few home deliveries in those days) and covered just North Watford (WD2) from a proper distribution depot in Enfield. I had maybe 30 daily deliveries which I cleared usually by lunchtime, then rested up on the bypass by my favourite burger van, waiting for any collections to come over the radio. Pretty much 8am-5pm, occasional weekend overtime (which sometimes involved delivering a wrongly routed parcel to somewhere like Manchester, using a company Escort van which I was free to keep for the rest of the weekend) and a pretty reasonable salary. I really enjoyed the job. Those were the days!
