Welcome new members

Welcome @Sideshowrob , first and foremost really hope you mend well and there is no lasting damage. Broke a number of ribs coming off my mountain bike a few years ago which hurt like feck, can't imagine what it must be like to have done your back. What did you hit? I bent myself backwards over a tree stump on a downhill after having gone over the bars.
Back on subject, sounds like the perfect vehicle to get the bike in. Be worth you having a look at the internal bike rack thread, gives a really good option.

Yes welcome @Sideshowrob , I only ended up getting into vans after a bad break left my right hand unable to operate a motorbike throttle and front brake so I hope you make a full recovery

Thanks @DaveyB I'm recovering well the wedge fracture to L1 its to serious and I had a operation last week to add Ti plate for the collarbone which should get me out biking and boating sooner. The damage was done after being thrown from bike 10-15ft in the air after screwing up a jump :(

The internal bike rack thread has been really useful, the challenge is going to be getting two bikes stowed securely under a Kombi bed but when the beds not in it should be straight forward but I guess this is all part of the fun.

Now just to find a Van..

I saw the exploria kombi bed up close and personal for the 1st time at the CCM this week. I want to be able to carry my bikes in the van, and a kombi bed. Don't reckon the two are compatible though. With the height 4 option for the bed (which is the lowest you can have if you have a kombi van and leave the rear seats in but folded down) can't see how you'd get a bike in underneath, unless you take both wheels and seat of as a minimum.

I'd really like to avoid taking the rear wheels out, as the exploria kombi bed legs attach to the tie down point, when I get a van i'll be able play around with loading the bike on their side and see if they will rough stay within this area. Both bikes are 650B which should help as 29ers look to be a bit of a squeeze in a SWB Kombi with the seats in place.

Hello team!

In about 5-6weeks until my first van to arrive - Multivan(Caravelle for you guys) lowline[read: Trendline] 110kw DSG. Kind of hard to move on from Tiguan 2016, but family first so just need a bigger car. Mostly usual family car - Mojave Beige, 7-seats, ACC, park sensors + camera etc.
As I cannot have just a regular car, I've also ordered side bar, front splitter, rear wing, roof bars. Althoug not sure if and how they will match with the colour :)

Welcome @PaulE, you appear to be the first Estonian member, congratulations. Is your bus going to be petrol or diesel?

Heyhey! :) Thank you for your greetings!
For this size of car it makes sense to have diesel! Actually I do not even know if anyone here has bought a petrol on a new van.

In the UK we don't get the option. There is a chap on here in Germany I think, who has opted for the Petrol. A lot of cities are starting to get silly about diesel emissions.

Hi all
I own a Nov 2014 Olympian Blue T28 panel Transporter and this is my first one. Upgraded from my Astra estate! So far I have added rear spoiler and side bars, but I am wanting to make some further modifications to it and thought this would be the place for suggestions on the best places to get this done? The previous mods I got done when purchasing from the VW Van Centre dealer. I am mainly keen to get a set of alloys and upgrade the seat interior to leather as a relatively short-term goal, with a view to getting the ply lined back relined and a bench seat with 2 or 3 seats and windows added as a longer term thing.

Just looking for some guidance/ tips from those in the know on best places to start looking. I don't have experience working on vehicles myself, so looking to get the work done for me. If a dashboard mod was easy enough to do then I might be up for giving it a go though.

I really like the leather seats options on this site and some of the dashboard upgrades, but not sure on comparability with price or if there are cheaper/ easier (but just as good) ways of achieving the same? I can't seem to find any other companies that can provide this style of leather seating? Any experience of dealing with this company or others would be appreciated!

Hi James, Welcome, just wondering, is your van a T6?

Cheers for the welcome!

Hi James, Welcome, just wondering, is your van a T6?

Hi Chris
I think that it is technically a T28? I am not 100% sure, because everyone seems to refer to Transporters as falling into the T3, 4, 5 6 categories, but when I bought it, it was listed as a T28 and plenty come up on google under T28. I assumed that panel vans had a slightly different classification? I would be interested to know the difference if anyone can explain it? I guess though as it is a 64 plate then it is a T5.

Cheers
James

Think I have answered my own question! It appears that T28, T30 and T32 are the different payloads of the T5 vans?

That is correct. It is the max payloads of the T5's and T6's. So mine is a T6 T32, therefore 3.2 tonne payload.

The T28/30/32 also refers to T6's and T5's alike. being gross weights 2800kg/3000kg/3200/kg.
