Weight plate confusion

I'm glad I don't have a caravan!

So,
  • Pre 1st January 1997 licence, max tow weight is braked 2100 kg MAM trailer/caravan (5300 kg plate maximum)
  • Post 1st January 1997 licence, max tow weight is 750 kg MAM (licence maximum).
  • Post 1st January 1997 with additional trailer test max tow weight is braked 2100 kg MAM (5300 kg plate maximum)
Not forgetting that the trailer nose weight must be taken into account when calculating the tow vehicle load.

Those post 97 can tow a caravan of trailer heavier than 750kg but not with a transporter, would need careful selection of towcar to keep the weights legal.

My guess is you are probably very old and can drive a 7.5t vehicle on your car licence.

@T6 dork i'm sure that the limit on your licence is the theoretical maximum assuming that the tow vehicle weight plate allows it.
The tow vehicle weight plate will overrule your licence if the stated MAM is lower.

It’s on page 1 of the V5 (registration doc’), that’s the legal document for the vehicle.

It looks like you have category B+E which means you can pull a trailer over the max without the +E bit (750kg) but you got this entitlement after 2013 so it’s limited to 3,500kg

without knowing where you got this information it’s impossible to really comment.

Hi,
My 2018 LWB 9 passenger 102hp 6speed manual transmission TDI T6 has the weight sticker on your bullhead in engine bay close to airbox, but no numbers written in it.

Besides the aforementioned sticker, how can I determine the weight rating of my T6?

TIA for any headsup.

Can you post a pic of the weight plate?

If it's been replaced from crash repair or re listing of weight category at bay be blank and not etched?

Here you are. As mentioned, the sticker is there (peeling off) but no weight info printed. :-(

It has never been in a crash. I bought it new. That is, unless something happened before, that the dealer didn't disclose me at the time of purchase.

Your VIN says the sales type is SGJ1A2 and a search of that brings back the attached, which says it's a T30 3000kg.
EDIT: However, as @mmi points out, it has PG1 PR-code at 3200.
