Sonax is dedent stuff. BITD it used to be dirt cheap at the Vauxhall dealer as they supplied the Vauxhall branded cleaning products.

This is fairly typical of how my van looks at this time of year;

I often just snow foam it and pressure wash it as it's only going to get filthy again soon.
Every couple of months I give it a good clean and wax it or use a sealant.
Car shampoo isn't primarily formulated to get your vehicle clean, it's formulated to lubricate your wash mit and to not remove wax or sealants, so it's a bit sub optimal at cleaning.
So today I decided to give this stuff a go after a normal snow foam / pressure wash to get the worst off;

All I can say is it's fantastic! The colour of the van seems more vibrant. It's probably removed lots of old manky wax and sealant that doesn't get removed by normal car wash shampoo.
The small print says it decontaminates the paint, it certainly gets tar spots off and it worked a treat, perfect for a follow up wax or sealant.

Once I'd dried it I then used Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer, which is more a sealant than a detailer. It's extremely water repellent and water beads off it in big blobs.
When I've previously used it it lasted months.
Looking very good :thumbsup:…. If you like the Sonax, I’d suggest giving Gyeon WetCoat a go or better still Gyeon CanCoat, or both!

Both very easy to apply, and the WetCoat will provide much more protection that Sonax, as the Sonax is just a detailer spray, especially after stripping any previous wax/protection with the shampoo. Or if you have the time give a couple coats of CanCoat and you’ll have almost professional ceramic level protection and gloss and it will still be water beading in a years time. This stuff is incredibly good.

Iv tried so many products over the last 7/8 years and so far a combination of the WetCoat every 4/6 weeks and CanCoat once a year is by far the best Iv found.

I use Auto Smart CeramiX. I bought it off a trade stand at Knockhill to try, and have to say it's brilliant. It needs so little product, so works out pretty cheap.

Where you buying it from ? Been contemplating getting some of this for a while 🤓
Last time I brought it I got both from GSF as they were the cheapest at the time. But I’ll usually just order from whoever is the cheapest! You’ll pay £20/25 for a litre of the WetCoat and £37/40 for the CanCoat….. so they aren’t cheap as some products but the ease of use of both, especially the WetCoat and the durability and finish is extremely good!

I’d suggest using both and you’ll have a years worth of protection. It’s the next best thing from getting a professional to ceramic coat your vehicle.

Thats the problem...everyone believes the stuff they use is the best 😁
I've looked but never dabbled with ceramics , all blows my mind how many options 🤯

The unscientific voodoo nonsense some professional ceramic merchants spout is hilarious.

Don’t get me wrong, there are products which maybe be better in certain areas, or maybe cheaper, last longer etc etc but ease of use is almost just as important for us non pro’s who just want a nice clean shiny van on the driveway without spending £££ on a professional ceramic coating.

For everyday washing and using a hydrophobic spray you can’t go wrong at all with either Gyeon WetCoat or Car Pro hydro2 lite version. Both just as easy to use and both very good.

A wax finish instead of these, yes it will last longer, maybe add more glossiness, maybe bead just as good BUT who wants to spend 5 hours just waxing their car. We’ve all done it, and if your like me and get bored after 30 mins and kind of wish you hadn’t bothered starting, or you arms killing and then it’s starts to rain 😆… this is where the sprays come out on top by far for us non pro’s.

Gyeon CanCoat however will provide better protection/water beading and durability in my opinion than any wax like a Fusso99 or a BH double speed, and it’s so much easier/quicker to apply.

There’s plenty of YouTube videos out there, have a look! :thumbsup:
