Hi,

Have searched but can't see an answer, although struggling due to poor WiFi - offset by lovely Sea view as I type, we're at Caerfai Bay in St David's

Have Waeco CRX50, literally have always just had to power it on then press button until blue light is around 2 on the scale - fridge and freezer both good. Usual process when on hookup and on hookup now.

However last night items in freezer defrosted - so moved blue light until on freezer icon - all back frozen - but other items in fridge area starting to freeze as obv so cold

Switched Blue light back to two and everything's defrosted again - am I missing something obvious / doing something silly!?

Thanks in advance

Looking it up the manual rates it as a Climate Class T (tropical) +16 to +43 centigrade.

It's a single compressor system so the freezer compartment relies on the fridge running "enough" to keep it frozen, it doesn't have its own temperature sensor.

What's likely happened is it's been a cold night so the fridge never ran the compressor or only occasionally so the freezer compartment warmed up.

The freezer setting on the control panel is really only for if you are using the whole unit as a freezer.

Thanks for checking - much appreciated

Confirms that I'd never put it on freezer mode previously - as literally everything starts freezing

I'll increase the fridge setting - as obv fridge should stay on more then - just found it odd that never had this prob before.

Could just be a number of factors tipping it over the edge, maybe a little less precooled this time, slightly warmer frozen food, oddly cold nights at the start of the season...

Worth keeping an eye on if it does it again but a one off seems plausible.

Ideally have a fridge thermometer so you can see how the fridge is doing.

True freezer temperature is -18, possibly yours has been defrosting and refreezing before so you've not noticed. Not an issue if you're only keeping things frozen for a few days but would be worth knowing if it was longer than that.

Thanks, yep will be keeping an eye on it, it's on setting 3 at the moment and seems to be OK, so fingers crossed...
