hi all a while ago I got a letter template from someone to send to the dvla to change my v5! now I've misplaced the letter would anyone happen to have it? I've added kombi seats (cert from the person who fitted them) and its now got windows in the sides and rear barn doors!
I'm intrigued by this. I have a factory kombi but it's still an N1 category which I'm still confused about with regards speed limits.
Are you trying to change it to an Mpv for the increased speed limits?
It's still a grey area for kombi's afaik Converting a van to carry passengers in the rear
I don't think there is such a thing as an MPV category, it's N1 because it's a van derivative not a car derivative is my understanding. You can only effect a change to motorhome to get the higher speed limits
I had a template from a bloke to send to the dvla to change the van to a mpv and for the life of me I can't find it! If I remember right it was basically saying it's not used for commercial use other than my own family and goods and they changed it to a mpv
If it's a commercial vehicle you're restricted to lower speeds on national speed limit areas 50 single carriageway, 60 dual carriageway - can do 70 on a motorway
From memory to be reclassified as a car your van must weigh under 2064kg and have rear window
It can't be reclassified as a car but can be a dual purpose vehicle if has second row seats, side & rear windows and is under 2040kg.......which many T6 arent.
