Team Banded Brothers.

If you are talking about Amaroks, 9" fronts don't work on mine, they poke out too much, meaning they rub on my height and look like they don't fit properly.
I've mentioned this before, but there is a difference in some T6 fronts that make the offset a little strange. Myself and @T6180 had this problem with a pair of RRs that poked out around 10mm on the front of his old 2016 T6 and looked daft, but the exact same wheels tucked on the front of mine and the difference between poke and tuck is quite considerable, but we've never been able to work out what made his T6 poke and mine not, the only difference was manual and DGS and 2016 and 2017 vans.

All 3 sets of my banded steels have been different and I've now got the sizes perfect on all of them, but it's been trial and error.

17s has to be 9" and 9.5" because the 10s Jamie made for mine were way too wide and rubbed my arches on road dips.
18s has to be 8.5" and 9.5" because the 9" poke on the front of mine, but the 9.5" rears tuck lovely and look the nuts that deep.
19s has to be 9" and 10" which sit perfectly and tuck under absolutely spot on.

Several people run 9" fronts, but they are not daft enough to be as low as mine, so it's not quite so obvious, but even the set of 9" fronts that @DWS had off me didn't quite work on his T6, and now he's moved to 8.5s I think.

Thanks for your input, Paul. Really appreciate it.

I’ve been doing quite a bit of trawling the net to find examples of T5/5.1s with 9/9.5 amaroks on and I’ve found a good handful at least.

I doubt there is much difference to a T6 in reality but I’ve seen a few examples with 9s on the front that work. I think tyre choice is the key.

I’m going to stick with my order and if they cause issues with my current chosen tyre size (235/50) then I can attempt 245/45s and if they’re still an issue then can either try another tyre or worst case I’ll order a set of 4x8.5s off Jamie and make a set of 8.5/9.5 to keep and a set of 8.5/9 which I’ll sell on.

At the moment, I think I’m around -95mm at the front (B14s all the way down, hub mod (c.-10mm) and T6 machined top mounts (c.-15mm). I’ve always got the option to raise it a whisker if necessary as opposed to being ‘stuck’ at -100mm minimum with nowhere to go if I was on SoLows.

Anyone got any photos of a pure grey t6 with banded amoraks, I’m having my van painted pure grey and currently have banded amoraks but I’m thinking I might be looking at either new wheels or wheel colour change( silver at the moment ) preferably low as I’m on solows.

Get it dropped down to 80mm mate and I’ll bet it’ll be fine.... the extra lower camber should just be enough for your sliding doors.

This was my plan. Get it lowered hopefully get some extra camber and sort the tracking out. If that doesn't work I will probably try some 235/45r18 tyres.

What's the most common widths for banded amaroks, duchy has recommended 8.5/9 with 255/45 tyres. I won't be going too low maybe 50/60mm. Does this sound like a good combo.
They will be going on a t5.1 shuttle.
Thanks

That's the most common setup

That feeling when the tyre fitter calls over two of his colleagues to look at your brand new wheel on the tyre machine.

To$$er completely ignored the fact I told him they were different widths and didn’t readjust between the 9 & 9.5 and damaged the lip. So angry. Anyhow I had no choice but for them to finish the job so I can handover my current wheels tomorrow.

Already on the case with Jamie to repair.

Fitted to the van now. No rubbing as yet but the sliding door catches. However it’s a Kiravans store panel so I may be able to remove that and get away with it.

Agree, they look great, but bloody annoying for you that they did that!

What did the tyre fitters offer to do about that damage?

Cheers guys.

In fairness they offered to cover the costs straight away. It’s jut annoying. Fresh out the box.

My tyre fitter had the same issue, I'd told him there were two different widths, and I made a point of giving him the rears first, but when he came to the fronts the machine stopped high and he started to go off on one, until I pointed out that I had told him earlier on.

Unreal isn’t. I’m not a tyre fitter, telling a tyre fitter how to do their job. Never assume.

I think having tyres fitted is one of the most stressful parts of vehicle ownership for me. Especially when you have nice wheels.

In other news, the ride quality now is night and day to the RRs.

I recall having a conversation about red and yellow dots on the tyre wall being aligned to the valve / opposite valve to get the minimal amount of balance weights. Tyre fitter said they just ignore them!
