T6.1. oil sensor

Mine went to the dealer and turned out to be a fox or similar had chewed through the wiring ! They repaired the loom and it’s been fine since.

I think the same has happened to mine completely in half

Oil level low/high visit dealer my T6.1 just developed this issue i know its fine and its a fault with sensor or something are the dealers able to rectify now ??

Yes I had the same on my 18Plate van this year.
Cable underneath wore through & snapped on the chassis got it replaced / fixed by a good auto electrician in Rainham kent. £230.

Long overdue update on mine. As well as replacing the ECU ( no reason given by VW ) and the oil sensor, it turned out to be a wiring loom, which was fixed.

I’ve just discovered exactly this on mine! I don’t suppose anyone knows the part number for the replacement part of the loom? And how far it goes?

Annoyingly it’s the bit from inside the van, not the bit that goes to the sensor will probably just crimp or solder it for now..

Anyone know if there’s a fuse for this sensor? I’ve repaired the break but the fault still won’t clear.. hoping the sensor hasn’t actually failed

Check underneath if the sensor cable is broken I had the same problem last year.
Had a good Auto electrician sort from Rainham kent.

Yea I’ve tried that, just keeps popping back up.. thought maybe it shorted and blew a fuse when it got chopped

Got the same with my 20 plt. Vw said poss egr or software. Egr company said it was fine but sensor was reading 70mm when should be 30mm. Was intermittent, now constant. Do want to update as have a remap on it

Check underneath to if cable has been chewed up by a fox they love VW sensor cables.

As above, check wiring harness's, that was the cause of my problem. Took VW 5 weeks to figure it out though.

Thanks all for pointing me towards fox/rodent damage! Allowed me to very quickly find the cable and come to the same conclusion. Easy fix.
Also took the advice on turning it into barbed wire, with sharp cable ties.
