Oil level low, followed by low oil pressure

I checked the oil and there were no copper or aluminum filings. The oil filter was clean. I even removed the bearings at the same time and they were also unworn.

Right, so I have found the regulating valve and its as mentioned previously, just above the front engine mount. The mount needs to be removed..

I have also found the problem, the value body was broken. The long thin piece is stuck inside the block and the back piece came out.

Please, does anyone have any tips on how to get the thing out? I have tried a self tapping screw and pulling it out - no joy. Im thinking Im going to have to drop the oil again, remove the oil sump and hopefully i can push it out from the inside,..... Can anyone confirm if this is doable? HELP?!

Looking at your pressure valve, I think it's a fake from AliExpress!!! One seller also offered me one, but it looks different from the original!!! There were supposedly VW badges, but as if someone had burned the original with a soldering iron, it looks different on the housing.

Wear doesn’t tend to create filings, more microns than filings size, the stuff that passes through oil filters hence it’s in suspension in the oil, not visible to the naked eye.
Bearings need measuring along with the journals, looking doesn’t provide an assurance that they are not worn.

I can't check the oil now anyway because I just changed it. I'm struggling with the P164d pressure, and the oil has maybe 10 miles on it. I want to buy a Pierburg pump, but this part number isn't available anywhere. They only fit passenger cars with a different part number. Can I buy a different part number? It looks identical, except for a different intake manifold and, I think, a different pump drive gear?
