Sun Visors And Grab Handles - different colours

Looks good though. I don’t have any of that. Just the cubby hole and the light switches are in the headliner. What’s the panel in front of the switches? Looks like a blanking plate?

ah you have different setup to mine. The spray looks good. strange the lights only worked briefly. Could that be a voltage issue? Need a resistor? Should just work with that extra harness though?

I’m not too sure. It was dark & raining by the time I got that far so didn’t have it all back out again to see.

What was odd was that the single faint LED came on as soon as I plugged the main harness in & I hadn’t yet connected the ambient yellow wire. I thought that would be dead until I’d done the last bit. Maybe not though.

Either way only one worked briefly. I’ll need to check it out tomorrow in daylight

Cheers mate. Not bad for a sausage fingered plumber

Yeah just a blanking plate. There’s other T6 models that have the same console but utilise that bit for additional controls.

Bit gutted it didn’t all just work. Spent a fair bit of time messing about with it this weekend. Even lined the cubby hole with some sticky back felt for lining jewellery boxes. Hope it’s an easy fix or can just get sent a new unit

Good shout with the lining there. I did it with.carpet. Was so fiddly. Must be something to do with the wiring on that light. maybe try get 12 volts onto it separately. instead of coming off ambient lighting. Just to prove if lights work. Do rest of lights work on it?

Yeah the actual lighting works perfectly. I swapped out the standard bulbs that came with it for LEDs & they’re all fine. Just the two little ambient ones. Excuse the crap photo, but you can see what I mean…

The right hand one is/was really faint & nothing on the left one. This was before I’d connected up the yellow wire

Then you got nothing when you connected to ambient circuit. Did you start engine? only way to know for sure is by checking voltage those two lights

Is it wired off back of the headlight switch? Does anything happen if you adjust the dimmer?

Might be worth trying to go off dimmer switch. But if you can check voltage at light. You’ll know if its the unit or not

Yeah off of the headlight rotary switch. Connected to Grey/Blue on a scotch lock

I started the engine & still nadda. Like I say, it was chucking it down & dark by that point so I shut the door on it until tomorrow. I’ll get my testers on it in the morning & see what’s up hopefully

hopefully just not voltage there. the guy in the link had almost identical issue and returned his to ecs. I doubt it’s faulty. Be pretty unlucky

Nice one for the links mate. Hopefully an easy fix like a cruddy connection somewhere. If it wasn’t p!ssing it down I’d go out now & have another look at it.
