Staggered 20s and Cali / Caravelle sliding-door trims..

@BognorMotors today I mounted all 4 wheels , and I noticed on sight that the left rear wheel sits more inwards than the wheel on the right hand side where the sliding door is.

i quickly measured the differnce with a peace of wood that touched the tyre above and below, it's a litle more than 10mm difference from left to right.

When I look at the alignment report the camber at the left is about 1° more negative than on the right hand side.

how do you tackle this problem?

I guess if I would fit black powerflex adjustable bushes i could get the rear camber about equal.

and maybe this would also solve the sliding door touching :)

I have photos of them on but not with the narrower tyres . From memory it is still very close but no longer rubbing so not sure if a 265 would still catch.
You can use my offset, wheel and tyre sizes on willtheyfit and it will show how much more they will poke out( or not). Remember though the tyre width does not necessarily mean the real width. My uniroyals measure as 295mm wide on a 275 due to rim protector etc. With the 275 fitted you could watch the door get pushed out due to this.
@Stevefrs Just put your set up in will they fit 255/40/20 with a 9.5 wide rim et 37 and then a 265/40/20 with a 10.5 rim et45 and it’s saying the rim will only poke out 4.7mm more? Is this right? Still trying to convince myself to just go for 9/10.5 staggered and shave what I need from the door cards. It seems Judd aren’t really doing 9.5 wide anymore these days.

It was the tyres that rubbed on mine. Remember the tyre width is nominal. When I measured my 275 uniroyals the actual width was around 292mm. My 255 uniroyals are actually nearer to 275 due to rim protectors.

Yes but not lots, unfortunately still on my winter set or I would have gone and measured.

sorry new to this Transporter game and looking to add the caravelle sliding door trim to my Kombi. i have 275/20/8.5 ET, will the door card rub? Cheers

I forgot I was supposed to go and measure. Looking at it there is around 2-3mm from tyre to door card on my velle which is the standard -20mm drop. See pics from today.

I am looking at Supermetal Fins (9" ET45) for my Caravelle. Been advised to have 255/35R20, but there is a sum total of one tyre out there at the right load rating (Powertrac CityRacing). Could go 275/35R20 for much more choice, but is it likely to rub? Also looking to drop using B14 Komfort Low at max height if that changes matters...

Fins with a 275/35/20 will not run on a Caravelle door card. They are et45 on a 9” rim. You can even add a 5mm spacer on that.

We are running two Caravelle Execs running this setup on STXA with zero rub.

if you need a price on this wheel setup drop us a DM or give us a call.

Here you go. No spacer. Lowered on STXA. 9 x 20” rocket. Et45. 275/35/20 GYF1. No rubbing. 135709EE-AD84-4D79-B5B8-5CD2A9B299A5.jpeg4C34A192-B613-4E11-839D-480C17BDED26.jpegB6432F4B-3A58-4E4C-8B34-4825A4FA3F71.jpeg8E52EE75-211B-40B4-BDAD-EBDA087E1D9D.jpeg0D84F737-CF62-445E-AB41-C5F00760ABB8.jpeg05BB7FF4-62B6-439B-8F1C-8ED307BCCAE3.jpeg
