Sliding Rail bed - Can this be added?

Hi All,

We have found a van we would like to buy but the only thing stopping us is that is doesn't have a bed on rails which is something we would like. There doesn't seem to be many LWB automatics with a rail bed. So am wondering if there is an option to remove the fixed bed and get a company to add seats on sliding rails? Is this easy to do? Not fused it it costs as believe its worth it for us.

Thanks
Lara

Yes it is possible.

Definitely possible, especially if you’re not fussed about the cost.

I wouldn’t say it was easy to do as everything will have to be stripped out, rails fitted and the floor raised. You’ll need a new side step and rear threshold plastic and some of the interior trims will need adjusting to allow for the extra height on the floor.

There may be rails available that can be installed on the surface of your existing floor saving a bit of faff, not sure though.

Have you tried Exploria, they do an LWB with sliding seats.
